the one thing i dont like about this mouse is that it says 'Rapid Fire' on the left mouse button, but there is no 'Rapid Fire' mode on the mouse.

Solid, solid review! It seems like everyone and their brother do review/unboxing vids these days & many of them are sh*t when it comes to product knowledge, camera work, etc. Really makes me appreciate someone who focuses the camera right up close, shows all angles & features of the product and knows what they're talking about ahead of time. Around @6:30 when you actually went into the programming software, ya had me, man. Subbed. Great work :)

I have this mouse, the screws on the side aren't for adjusting the width. The mouse itself is already fairly wide, and very comfortable for those with large hands. I've had absolutely no issues with this mouse. As a matter of fact, this beats most Razers or other gaming mouse I've ever used. With the custom profiles there's a link to program feature so you can switch modes without ever having to open up the RAT TE program again, which is frickin' awesome. I'm pretty rough on my stuff, hence the reason why I only buy the Motorola line of phones considering the RAZR M (one step below MAXX) endured multiple multi-story tumbles in to various conditions and worked until the hardware just plain wore out, this mouse is holding up nicely. Occasionally I'll get some lint or something on my mouse pad and it'll mess with the sensor, clean it off and good to go again. If I ever break this one, I'll be buying another. My dad and I won't buy Razers after the last one he had quit working and the replacement one was dead within the same amount of time, e.g. a few months.

Laser became weak very quickly, losing it's horizontal movement, having to recalibrate with a q-tip, and the mouse wheel doesn't have a nice 'lock on' we'll call it, hard to scroll between weapons accurately. The RAPIDFIRE text on the mouse is for show. Yeah. I'll go on over to Razer, no idea why I purchased a MadCatz product, they were shitty when they made gamecube controllers, they still are now.

I wonder what the switch quality is like... It looks pretty much like the R.A.T 7 (without the thumb scroll). The switches (left and right click) are known / were known to expire quickly (or just out of warranty, like mine...)

I just got this mouse today...and It's an impressive mouse. However, this is the 3rd time I was shipped something that seemed like it was broken/had a problem in some way from the makers of this mouse. I've searched the internet for hours looking for a solution for this but every time I mentioned RAT TE, the search results simply came up in a "shop mad catz mouse" kind of way, no help what so ever...and yes, I did set up all the soft ware and drivers. The MB4 and MB5 buttons where you put your thumb essentially came broken, they functioned for about 3 minutes when I first plugged it in. Afterwards, the buttons became completely unresponsive...I tried binding one of the thumb buttons to a key binding in a game I play, and it still was receiving no input. I suspect that the buttons are broken, or something's up with the software. A little help here for a somewhat inexperienced guy?

I am having some sensor issues with my RAT TE. Just the slightest dust particle in the sensor and it does not move at all. It's too sensitive! I never had such issues with roccat kone XTD.

So, I've been wanting to get a fairly good 'my first' gaming mouse and everything I looked at was wayyy off the charts pricey for me... until I came across this. The blue accents on black make me drool and have have seen a lot of praise for the mouse in general. The only downside people seem to have is that they find it too light compared to other mice (which is probably a non-issue for non-gamers). As a first gaming mouse it seems pretty awesome but I'll reserve judgement until I've actually used it. Probably going to get it next month. HardwareHeaven Thanks for the review!

+intenzone madcatz.com/downloads/ Just select your mouse, once it has installed the software, it will start automatically when you plug your mouse in. You can open the program by clicking the little arrow on your task bars right side, its to the left of the internet icon on windows 10. This should show you active programs including the one for your RAT. Just follow his guide instructions and it is damned easy to set up.

I recently noticed my rat te mouse locking onto things... is this normal? feels really awkward and when I switch to my laptop mouse its fine and does not lock onto anything. Blow on the laser - rub it with alcohol - Change your Mouse pad or use it on paper,book or normal CLEAN table. The laser's of R.A.T mice are too sensetive thats why most people thing that their mouses are ded and none functional.

Yes and no. They fixed the z-axis problem but you need to configure it for different surfaces to avoid the z-axis bug. I love the R.A.T. TE but I miss the customization features of the R.A.T. 7. I'm just hoping they release a new R.A.T. with all the features of the 7 and the improved features of the TE.

Well I like mine lighter so out of the box I took weight out being that I have the rat 5 it felt decently heavy out of the box just make sure this one will allow that customization

3 main issues for me; Linux Mint the mode button fucks up clicking and it took me forever to figure out, the way your hand sits on the mouse the right clicker is easily click on accident ALL THE DAMN TIME (had to stick folded paper in there to stiffen it up. adjustable clickers would be great), and the bottom left corner on the mouse pokes into your palm and it's SUPER annoying (tempted to just take a grinder to it). 3 out of 5 Pros it looks cool (mine is red) hardware is nice (except right clicker) size adjustable feels quality for the price
