I actually enjoyed the shit out of the level design, starting on a dry ocean bed, with each camp and tent based on oil platforms, and a myriad of downed planes, sunken ships, boats and subs and lots else. I liked going to every minor encampment and having each one having a minor unique twist of its own, a different maze/puzzle/platforming sequence, almost like when I discovered one of the tiny islands in Wind Waker. Certain other widely appraised games had literally copypasted bases and widely repetitive missions and no one said one thing about these. Plus the sunset and nights are gorgeous, just like standing on edge of high cliffs and looking at the whole world around, and the storm sequences are unlike anything I'd seen in other open-world games.

Precisely. I love how you can pack your punch by holding the attack button, and how satisfying it is to deliver it against the guy who irritated you the most during the gang fights. The combat is really simple but has so much weight to it I never got tired of it even during my second playthrough.

Henrique Tavares Sleeping Dogs without a doubt took the Arkham games' combat and tweaked it with their own ideas. One of those ideas is holding the attack button delivers more damage like in this game.

Mad Max specifically stole the janky Arkham Origins combat system, which I'm pretty sure was WBGames trying to mimic Rocksteady's system without actually using their code (as the original devs weren't involved in Origins, IIRC). And they did kind of break it, compared to the original.

They followed the critics on this one, the game is no masterpiece but holds it´s own. One good thing about it, its actually sad to point this out as a good thing ... it was a finished game at release. I usually love Smosh Games, this video however is all about trash talking a game down that they probably havn´t played, it has very little substance in it´s attempts at comedy.

This game's combat wasn't as much Arkham, more like a representation of Jason Statham if he was really, REALLY tired of everything. The vehicular combat though, is pretty fucking sweet. Harpooning a tailgator's front tire and seeing them flip, not to mention beating the driver's face to a pulp? Holy shit that's satisfying...unless you're out of your car then having to either dodge for an eternity waiting for the driver to get sick of how slow his acceleration and step withing kicking distance or run back to my car and take out my frustration via head on collision with them gets kinda dragged on, but it's definitely up there with twisted metal when it comes to brutal satisfaction

I'm confused because I heard this game was already in production before the movie came out, and they worked with the director to make sure that the game fit well with the theme of the movie, but that was the reason that it contained none of the characters from the films. It was always meant to be a standalone game that just took place in the same universe. correct me if I'm wrong, but it would seem wrong to criticize them for that if that's what they were going for all along, and never had any intention of just making a game to make money off a movie

This game was actually damn fun. Here's a tip: Turn the in-game music off, play the Mad Max: Fury Road soundtrack in the background, enjoy. When Brothers in Arms, Claw Trucks, or Chapter Doof come on during a convoy raid? Instant adrenaline.

Kinda dropped the ball on this one guys. Would have been a better angle to not go along with all the critics on this and actually read what the people playing the game think. Take a look in any comment (even the ones here) and you'll see that the only people that think the game is boring, generic, etc. are the "professional" game critics. We players? We fucking love it. Over 7000 reviews on Steam alone, 93% positive. It would be nice to see a real honest trailer for Max. One that actually said how good the game is, as opposed to rehashing the bullshit you read at Polygon or Kotaku.

I got this game a few days ago really cheap (like £11) at my local game shop and I wasn't expecting much from it but DAYM this game is awesome! Its so much fun working towards the next upgrades for your car, the amount of activities and quests to do is exhaustive. the only thing I'd say is that ever since I broke The Jaw and got into Pink Eyes territory, ive been experiencing massive frame rate drops and glitches

i'd say one of the best parts of the game is meeting grifta... as he always has something new to say about max, not to mention the eirey screams that echo when you go near him, which really gives a sense of the madness that consumes max. i think if the enemies (especially the top dogs) werent so god damn generic, it would be better. also the addition of a hardcore mode of some sorts would be nice, which includes such features and respawning from the last save (since dieing in the process of running from a storm only to respawn in front of the nearest outpost with full health and the storm over is kinda imersion breaking, not to mention the game becomes very easy once u get even one outpost fully upgraded as u get full ammo, health, water, and gas just for traveling there, not to mention the gas skill is pretty useless until u get the flame pipes as it takes forever to run out of gas, yeah i get they didnt qant players to have to stop every 5 min to get gas bit still. guess whatbim trying to say is i wish there was a hard mode that made ur choices and resource management matter just a bit more.

This is such an underrated game. These videos are probably written by those PC master race gamers who never seem to get what they want and then they go and complain about it afterwords. He mentions in the video that it could have been a racing game or a car combat game but instead it's just a bundled mess. The game is all of those things mixed into one and it wasn't a mess, Avalanche actually mixed them quite well together but the writers didn't get exactly what they wanted so they complain about it. I could list many other things that the writers did that was absolutely ridiculous, but the list would go on and on. This is a great game, one of the best of the year next to mgs5 and Rocket League, don't listen to the critics.

AC was a nightmare for we the completionists but I actually found that Mad Max wasn't overly inundated with inconveniently placed side quests/optional to-do-list shit.
