To be honest I just watched it the movie, tom did a 👍 👌 job better then the other one, and I even looked at it because his new venom coming out soon, but anyway yes I just picked this game up in 2021 and its beautiful!!!! Feels and looks great and is so much fun, and combat in comparison to batman arkham knight its so much better...feels better looks better and bloodied up compared to batman and just flows better, and that's crazy because I still love batman ARKHAM knight, huge fan of it and idk if ur playing it in 2021 but I am still from time to time, but till dying light 2 comes out im just finishing games up i never payed enough attention to, like horizon and more, the Witcher i feel is great but a little tooooo demanding in armor and creativity....crafting is so dumb when its that extensive...I have a real life and need and want a game a little more basic in crafting its to much and so now I feel I need to start all over its been to long and I can't remember how to play and I made it to finding ciri...smh so ....idk I did a lot of stupid stuff in-between? Any pointers on that game? And maybe a game to check out that you suggest?

@@Halo4Ever90 Yet in Mad Max you rarely ever have to refuel, making that mechanic mostly pointless. In Days Gone, you run out of fuel you gotta go hunt some down on foot and hope you don't come across something dangerous, this makes it much more engaging. In Mad Max that's hardly an option since it's a vast desert wasteland so fuel basically lasts forever or you're fucked unless you just fast travel, that shouldn't be the solution. The car literally doesn't even run out of fuel even if it's empty, it just lowers your maximum speed to a crawl.

I was a very new inductee into the Mad Max series, and I went into it all knowing of the series without actually seeing it, until I got tired of driving through the same old Nomad stuff again and again in Cyberpunk 2077 (a game I really like, sue me). And it's a fun game. And while you said you didn't like all the little things like emblem hunting, it's what kept me going after beating the main storyline. I need that little motivator to keep going, and treasure hunting did it for me.

I loved the game but I ended up with the same problem I have with all open-world games over the last few years...I just eventually get bored/tired of the open world. I think since 2014, I've maybe actually completed about 5 or 6 open world games. Most of the others, I put in 20-25 hours and eventually just lose the desire to play them. Sometimes I try to go back to them sometime later and in doing so, I always regret it because I don't recall how to really play the game/see the map with soooooo much to do and I just get overwhelmed and quit again. Sadly I've come to realize the open world genre is just no longer for me. I'm not disparaging this game at all though, it was an excellent game, I just couldn't stick it out and finish it and probably never will. I did actually try to give it another go about a year ago and after like 2 hours I was already exhausted and uninstalled it.

This is a really good, thorough review! Well done! I only bought this on Steam last week and I'm really enjoying it. I never liked the Batman fighting engine, but I do like the one in Mad Max, even though it's very similar. Perhaps because it's more violent, and I find it a bit more challenging. I would have liked more abilities when fighting. Maybe like Dante's Inferno, where you can purchase moves and then you can just start using them at will. I would have liked to be able to break arms and legs at will, rather than it just sometimes happening. But I'm never bored with the fighting. I was often bored with the Batman games fighting...maybe because it overused the slow-mo, which is really cheesy. I dunno. I completely agree the controls are weird. As in what buttons do what. B (Xbox) being quick fire and also drop of a ladder really annoys me because the amount of times when you're trying to get away from a group of people when you're about to die and you press B twice you drop of the ladder and then pop of a round into the wall! And ammo is rare! That's my biggest gripe right now, so not terrible. Jump is also useless. It's used so rarely and not for any real purpose they should have left that out and made LT aim. Or maybe used LT to lock onto enemies when in CQC so you could then do "special moves" with a combination of A and B, X and Y. But the car and the driving and the car battles is all good for me! Really like that part. The Sound and the way the car starts to handle better as you get a better engine, tires, suspension. I think they got that spot on. At first I hated the physics of the car because it had no drift, and there's no handbrake. But once you get to a Level 3 V6 and get some suspension, it starts to handle like I wanted, which is really cool. Every time I took her out after an upgrade I was like "Oh ya...that's better". Even if just small it was noticeable. Anyways, not a perfect game. But probably one of the best "games of a movie" I've played. And I like they're picking up from the original movies and not Fury Road (which had no story either by the way)

One of my favourite things in this game is all the hidden stuff. There is a big system of caves in the west that are unmarked. I've never managed to fully explore them because I got lost the whole time lol

12:08 of all the things Max can eat in this game, you pick out dog food to be the nasty one? :D Compared to lizards, rats and maggots, dog food is like some gourmet delicacy

I quit playing half way through the game. The camps, towers and everything just got so repetitive. Honestly, it started to feel like a real drag playing the game for me. Upgrading the base has no real consequences and feels like a "so what?" feature.

I hear you. Those are legitimate complaints and not everyone will like that stuff.

I picked it up again because I always just wanted to finish this game, after a few years away from it it feels fresher again and I'm actually getting through the story this time, but yeah I'd say that the middle part of the game is way too grindy

One of my top five best games I have ever played along with Alien Isolation, Dishonored, The last of us and Portal 2. A massively under rated game.

I loved this game! I platinumed it until the desert was truly barren. I’m heartbroken to hear alien iso, evil within and mad max in the same sentence. Some of my all time fave games this genre that deserve a sequel. Have sales been that bad to not do another one? I’m so tired of assassins creed and these bigger studio titles that don’t deserve more praise than these gems

9:21 Inverted means your old school dawwwwwg. That's standard for the classic 3D gaming era. It's them Perfect Dark, Star Fox Controls ma dude. 😁👊 It makes sense to be inverted in terms of how a joy stick functions. It's similar to pulling down on a plane to fly higher.

I’m glad this game is getting some proper props even though it’s five years late. It’s arguably one of the best open world games from last gen that was sadly overshadowed by MGSV (same release day) and game “journalists” that ignorantly reduced it to “just another open world with Batman combat and a climbing towers equivalent to uncover the map.”
@AgentLemmon3 жыл бұрын
So happy i made the choice to get Mad Max over MGSV wich was a really overrated game
@testsubject1573 жыл бұрын
@@AgentLemmon So did I! But I do think MGSV is the best open world stealth game of all time.
@AgentLemmon3 жыл бұрын
@@testsubject157 It's a good stealth game, but it's a really bad Metal Gear game. Also the missions where so repetitive, you had to literally play the same exact mission multiple times to make progress, granted ,with multiple ways to actually finish them but it felt like annoying filler. I gave up after about 40 hours of play with little story progression wich was to me the biggest disappointment.

I realised that MadMax tackles one "postapo-world" problem that gets overlooked quite often. The shelf life of gasoline and diesel fuel. See, Gas and Oil (not crude oil) have quite short shelf life compared to other products. For gas its about 3-6 months (depending on octane count). To put that into perspective, if you would see your local gas station being filled on day 1 of "world goes boom", you would have LESS than 3-6 months for that fuel to be used or else it would simply not work. Even shorter if storage containers are old or low quality. In MadMax it is never actually said. However, you SEE that people are pumping crude oil and then refining it. Quite neat.

The OCD complaint doesn’t concern me as I enjoy picking up things in game, it makes more sense than magic pickups by rolling or riding over things. I don’t consider it padding, I consider it immersive.
@IcyRhythmsthereal3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the game. I really like how it was done in Red Dead 2. Having to physically open a lot of doors, chests, and drawers was very immersive in that game. It wasn't the most awful thing ever in Mad Max.

I had this idea which would have brought me back to the game if it was added: There are so many car wreckages across the map and if some sort of system was added where you could collect the car bodies from the wrecks and bring them back to a garage. From there you could do something like build a car using multiple other cars like the war rig from the movie. I think this would have made me play the game for a lot longer. Also the idea of adding multiplayer would have been amazing

Mad Max does deserve a sequel. Maybe the developers were planning a second chapter in the series. That's why Max gets all the good stuff at the end. The game is highly underrated and should have gotten more respect.

Its weird that you complained about the audio, I thought that was one of the best parts of the game. I never had the skipping issue, and the lack of music really went a long way to making it feel like Max's only thoughts were on the sound of the engine. Which by the way is incredible, it seems like all the audio here has been tailor made to make everything sound powerful. The engines, especially the Big Chief, the echoing blast of that shotgun, the brutal heavy punches as you can almost hear teeth smashing against metal. The screams of the enemies also adds to the completely feral feel of the wasteland. It sounds great.
