"Go! Go run to him like in the movies." Love that line.

It's funny reading it out of context because it sounded like he was snarling it angrily but then I watched the scene and forgot that he was just saying it earnestly lol. Adorable.

The chemistry between these two characters is one of the strongest ever on television. This scene is one of three that come to mind. The other two are when Peggy is pregnant and Don comes to help her and when Peggy quits. Phenomenal show.

I would change the pregnant Peggy scene for her breakdown in "The Strategy" at season 7

I think the best two lines in this clip, is when she's making fun of him for not having a family or anything, then she makes fun of the fact that he stole dannys idea, then he goes "dont get personal" lol

"You should be thanking me every morning when you wake up along with Jesus for giving you another day !!!!!!!!" I LOVE the bitter - sweet familiarity that Don and Peggy have. She is his de facto protegee. That's why she stays back late and stuff when sh%# hits the fan. She's the only one in the agency who is probably more talented than Him/Don. She's just young and doesn't know the game yet. That's why she needs him. Peggy: You never say "thank-you" Don: That's what the money's for !!!

I don't know why, but it is always the most satisfying storyline, when two enemies are friends for a moment and deep inside they see they are just like each other.

It's one of the best scenes in the entire show. She cries yes but notice she hasn't cried much at all since this scene. I think it was a scene with her mother in season 5 and her leaving at the end of season 5.

Yeah, you're right. It doesn't mean much if you don't know the history between them. But if you have watched the previous seasons, it's absolutely one of the best as far as Don and Peggy's history is concerned.

Mad Men is the best show on television and the reason is because it does more with what it has than any other show on television. It does so much with so little. I love Breaking Bad but it is about meth dealing, and guns, and incredible amounts of violence. It a very stereotypical TV esque storyline. Mad Men is about an ad agency. It uses subtlety rather than "boom" if you will and is absolutely incredible. I will agree Cranston is stronger than Hamm but Mad Men is the better show.

As aggressive as it was, Don is right. Peggy was asking for way too much that early in her career. A job and opportunities as good as hers aren’t just something you hand out to anyone, you have to work for it. His lines “That’s what the money is for” and “You should thank me along with Jesus for giving you another day” are the best ones because a cut throat business like advertising won’t give thank you’s out to anyone and to have a job like that is a real privilege that Peggy, being a woman in the 60’s should definitely thank her stars.

I don't think so. I've thought about it after I've watched this masterpiece of an episode for the third or fourth time, because I want to show MM to a reluctant friend of mine... but if you don't know the characters, the Don Draper "mythology", Don and Peggy's history, etc., you can't possibly enjoy it, worse, it would be a waste to watch it.

@tisdallgrant Wow really? That's what you got from the scene? You do realize Mad Men is partly about the sexism women faced in the 60's and are still facing now? Or does it all escape to you and you only see what you want to see? Yeah I guess that's the latter.
