This is some awesome ammo Tools. Theses guys know what they are doing with their ammo. Massive disruption and penetration out the gazoo. Even though the rifle round broke up into pieces it would be like getting hit by 4 223/556 rounds at the same time. That rifle was rad looking. Be vigilant and always be safe my friend.

@@ToolsandTargets I saw something today that said 30-30 exceeded penetration inside of 100 yards the 30-06 and 308 and rivaled them inside of 200. SJSP rounds. I'd like to see the gel test of 30-30 in Hornady LeveRevolution from 100 to 350. The lever gun and 2 bandoliers of 160 rounds total, is an urban warrior's dream if the black rifles are confiscated. What's the best round, especially against body armor. Learn to reload while running. :-) If you are a lefty, it helps.

These velocity and energy results are pretty interesting. Out of the BFR, we see an average velocity at 50 yards of 1592 feet per second, giving an average kinetic energy delivery of 1688 energy foot pounds at that distance. At 75 yards, the BFR is still running an average of 1522 fps for an average Ke75 of 1543. And at 100 yards, the projectiles out of the BFR are still averaging 1456 feet per second for an average Ke100 of 1412. Definitely nothing to sneeze at. And yet, the rifle managed to sneeze at it, giving an average V100 of 1570 and an average Ke100 of 1642, meaning that the rifle is hitting harder at 100 yards than the BFR is hitting at 75 yards. The rifle is averaging 1640 feet per second at 75 yards, giving an average striking energy of 1792 energy foot pounds, which is not only outclassing the BFR's 50-yard performance, but it's crowding the BFR's 28-yard performance, which was an average velocity of 1659 fps for an average energy of 1833 energy foot pounds. And the rifle continues to impress as we bring it in to the 50-yard mark, where we get an average velocity of 1716 feet per second for an average Ke50 of 1962 energy foot pounds, which is beating the revolver's 28-yard performance and crowding what the revolver can do at the muzzle (which Tools has shown us on the screen, so I won't rehash that here).

What a devastating monster of a bullet, impressive. Even with the projectile shedding the petals, at a pretty good depth, it still had plenty of deep penetration of the base to be very effective, plus the petals would do a good bit of damage themselves. The speeds from the BFR shows that the projectile will function like the pistol bullet from the longer barrel to at least to 100 yards, probably get a few more fps from a 16" barrel to extend its effective expanding range. Might need to get a box of 450 Bushmaster just to test out on a Texas hog.

I love it. I'm really anxious to shoot my BFR, I got it last December, but haven't had an opportunity as yet. I can tell from watching you that my wrist is going to be really sore afterwards

Believe it or not, there's no wrist or hand/palm pain from it. The one thing that got me on my first outing was it being super hot and sweaty hands. My hand would slide up the rounded grip and it would cause my middle finger to slam into the back of the trigger guard where it has the gap between the guard and front of the grip.😆
