As much as we can talk about Mike as an awesome guitarist and writer, let’s not forget the great human being. This band was formed not only to help himself deal with his drinking problem, but also because he hoped that working with sober musicians would help to push Layne to get himself clean. That’s a fuckin good friend.

In my humble opinion, AIC w/ Layne left such a deep impact on so many even after decades since deep down they were one of the most genuine, kind, humble yet tortured souls. What I love most about Layne & Jerry is how they are never afraid to be brutally honest in their lyrics to express their emotions. They never tried to please anyone . . .if you like it, great! If you don't like it, get lost! Layne & Jerry were very close . . . I remember Jerry said in one of his interviews years after Layne passed that he would occasionally go visit Layne's house knowing that he wouldn't open his door since he was so ill during their hiatus (1996-2002), just to bang on his front door and let Layne know that he was here and still cared about him . . . letting him know that he is never alone in his darkest hours. Also, when Jerry was homeless after his grandma and mom's passing, Layne offered Jerry to stay with him if he had no where to stay when they barely just met! On the other hand, I felt that Kurt & Courtney and their overall 'drama' just ruined my impression of Kurt!

I was born in Adana/Turkiye. So it's Middle East. I met with Mad Season 4 - 5 years ago. I am proud of myself Because i found you, guys. I wish i found long time ago. Maybe i could contact with Layne. It would give a hope or hapiness to him, maybe... I found him even in this geography. I can share/feel his pain, EVEN HERE, in god damn Turkey. Damn... I'm missing you EVEN HERE. July 17th ''19. Wake Up!

It brings me to tears every time I see or hear this man-knowing how the story ends in this man's song-he goes on only to "Wake Up" dead! He was so goddamn beautiful, unequivocally unique, and incredibly talented! I have personally felt the unimaginable pain and the seemingly unending despair from herøin addiction-the soul-crushing, helatious, horrific heartbreak that only Layne Staley's voice so accurately translates! 💔 RIP 😭 Layne Thomas Staley 08/22/67-04/05/02 🤘🏼❤️♾️

Wake up young man, it's time to wake up Your love affair has got to go, for ten long years For ten long years, the leaves to rake up Slow suicide's no way to go, oh Blue clouded gray, you're not a crack up Dizzy and weakened by the haze Movin' onward So an infection not a phase, yeah-oh The cracks and lines, from where you gave up They make an easy man to read, oh-oh, oh-oh For all the times you let them bleed you For a little peace from God you plead, and beg For a little peace from God you plead

As a matter of fact, let me tell you something. I think that you don’t know shit about SHIT to do with shit. I know you feel me. You’re one of the people who say you love layne, but really you just love running your mouth about shit you will never be able to relate to.
