Nah . . .that guy was weird, but believe me, they get A LOT weirder! Some of the stories I can't even tell on KZbin ! Also as a girl who works by herself most of the time, I feel uncomfortable surprisingly little! I suppose I am just one of those people who has the confidence and ability to deal with some pretty weird situations. Honestly, some of the things people have asked me about myself/told me about themselves/asked me to make for them are quite shocking. I have had some custom sewing requests geared toward some pretty specific fetishes and I am fine with that, as long as the person is respectful toward me. The problem is, sometimes they're not. Sometimes they get weird and sexual. That is when I say no. I have also turned down sewing requests because what I was asked to create would probably actually endanger the person's life! And that's AAAAALLLLL I need; I can seen the headline now: "Man found dead in bizarre sexual situation - contraption made by local goth girl"

And the thing I don't get is why we (goth/alternative folk) are the weirdos, but then people like the gentleman in your story exist as part of the "normal" classification of people. Oh the irony of it all. Quite an interesting and comical scenario. I'm sure it was awkward at the time though.👍👻💀🌙

Right? A lot of "normal" people that I have met have made me MUCH more uncomfortable than any alternative person I have spoken to! Like, what the hell? I completely agree with you! And yet, people still cross the street when they see me coming, as if I am going to accost them or something.

I definitely have guys that come in and do that! Guys who ask me personal things (usually about my piercings), guys who get quite sexual, guys who touch me without permission . . .but THIS guy I think would have interacted the same with me regardless of the fact that I am female. He was just super unbalanced and odd. I'm not sure who is worse - him or the pervy guys!

Love your eye makeup! Worked retail back in the late 90s. And yeah, there are all sorts of strange and unusual types that come in. But nothing's crazier than the types that come into the library. I could tell you some tales from my time working the circulation desk.

I deal with a surprising amount of people who behave like this, actually! I make a joke that I am weirdo magnet, but it's kind of true. I attract all sorts of extremely strange people who say weird things to me. I'm kind of like the goth version of the bartender: I know ALL the weird things about ALL the weird people.

I once worked at a beauty supply and a man called and asked to be transferred to the tire department and then proceeded to argue with me that there was no way he could possibly have called the wrong number and that I was being a jerk for not transferring him. Once he finally figured it out and I wished him a good day he shouted “I WILL MOST CERTAINLY NOT HAVE A GOOD DAY” and violently hung up the phone.

Oh yeah, the people who think they are warriors over the phone. Gotta LOVE those people! I get them sometimes too. It's almost like they think it's okay to be extra rude, because they're not physically in front of you. Oh, the joys of retail! And thank you! I just got them done about week ago. Well a couple yrs ago when I used to be a delivery driver for a pizza joint I was blaring Rammstein, love them, I also have thick German ancestry & I was sitting at a red light going back to the store & some dude yelled out NAZI! 😆 someone seriously called me a Nazi just cause I was listening to German music, like wow ok.

Bloody Hell! Thank god for hindsight and we can laugh about it now, I would have also felt super awkward and uncomfortable in that situation. You just have to kind of go with the flow on that one and play it by ear lol. Thanks for sharing, you're great at storytelling.

We have a loooooooooooot of crazy things at my work! The back rooms are full of shelves and shelves of animal feet (for our mascot costumes) and other assorted random things, like a bin of inflatable bodies and false teeth and pirate hooks! I think we attract all sorts of odd people, because we are quite an odd store!

Believe it or not, I have done that multiple times with multiple different weirdos and it has NEVER worked for me! You would think that it would, but noooooo . . .for some reason the weirdos just wait. And stare. And wait some more . . .until I get off the phone and they can continue the strange conversation hey were having with me. Any same person would get the hint, but then again the people who behave like this sometimes have questionable sanity.

I once dyed my hair pink. A dark pink it was strawberry jam by lime crime. And I was cashiering at a thrift shop and a man said he liked the color I dyed it, I said thank you and told him casually what it was called he replied with " I know I want to put it in my mouth, I want to eat your hair"

ALRIGHT RETAIL STORYTIME So I used to work at a sex store before these people deadass fired me for misreading my schedule and missing one shift, but that’s a story for another time. So anyways, one day i get this person in the store and thankfully my manager was there with me. this dude was clearly on hard drugs or had some serious mental health issues or both, because he comes in looking greasy af wearing a Sons of Odin hoodie (cult), and has a small box with some books in it that he’s holding and he just stands in the doorway mumbling to himself and making weird faces. So I was like Um.... hi sir... how are you today And then he starts talking to me about like the sons of odin so i kind of just ignored him, and then my manager asked him to leave or she’d just call the police, so he left but he was almost crying as he left. He then stood outside the store for a while just being weird and fucking around with a big stick, and left for a while. Then thankfully after I left work they found him in the back alley humping a mattress, so they called the police who found a crack pipe on him and banned him from the store. That was singlehandedly the wildest person I have ever encountered and in a way, thank god i don’t work there anymore because there were tons of people on drugs around there.

That's pretty weird indeed! We also get some mentally disturbed people who talk or mumble to themselves occasionally. I find them hard to deal with because they don't take direction like normal people and I sometimes have to be really blunt to get them out of the store! It's not an easy task!

The vest was an old tshirt that went rotten, so I made a vest and sewed bits of the tshirt onto it. The shirt underneath was an oversized mens band tshirt that I altered into a tank top.

It's pretty easy to do! I just wet it, then twist it around at the back and use Bobby pins to pin it flat. Just add hairspray and voila!

Work at a bakery (we're a franchise) and one day I take a call asking if we (my location) shipped to the Mayo clinic. I explained, no, we can only ship in out state, but I gave her the locator number and told her she'd be connected to the closest shoppe. She called back not five minutes later telling me "I need to enter the zip code! You need to give me the zip code!" O... kaaaay? Like I know that? I asked if she was neer a computer to google it she actually told me "No, because I'm actually at work!" And I'm not, bitch? There was nothing I could do, and told her so, so she desided that hissing out "Fine! Fuck you!" was the polite thing to do. 12 years later, and I'm still scratching my head at that one

Surprisingly, I do get a lot of people similar to this. I think the goth girl who works at the costume store full of weirdess brings out AAALLLLLLLL the weirdos. A lot of people think I'm lying when I tell them these stories, until they hang out with me and witness madness like this first hand!
