It's a strong backstory to be sure, I kinda lowkey like how Hashirama looks more like Lee and Guy too, would've been very easy to make him and Madara look like Naruto and Sasuke instead, in a way they're more like Guy and Kakashi at least at this point. You can see how the two shaped into who they are now though; Madara was impulsive, believing in peace built on mutual respect ('showing ones guts') but struggled to relay his feelings, while Hashirama was observant, believing in diplomacy but prone to criticism, these qualities would too wedge them on either side in the future, one with eyes on the present and the other with eyes on the future. We can also see the foundation of Tobirama too though, the realist with a eye for structure - since he ends up inventing most of the known jutsu today - but bitter towards the Uchiha for killing their youngest brother. Still though, history tends to repeat itself, as Hashirama's father asks him to do the same thing Sasuke's dad asked of Itachi... Remember that name though, Hagoromo Clan, it'll come back around.

This episode, the one before it and the next one are honestly ones my favourites of the entire show. I get chills every time I watch the scene with Hashirama and Madara on that cliff that will eventually be the settlement of Konoha. So wholesome. And also, I hope you get better soon 🙏

Madara and Hashirama relationship was better than Naruto and Sasuke. Leaving that aside, the real porpuse for Hashirama of fonding a village was to put and end to the mortality rate and war....Madara agreed on that too. They both wanted the best for their loved ones, but time was cruel and both ended as enemies.
