I never noticed that Madd Dogg was the Ballas’ associate, good catch. It came full circle for him when he ended up as a friend of the Johnsons. Loc got the other end of the stick, almost killed, and Smoke as well. Both of them who replaced Madd Dogg and his manager almost fully were both defeated in a way by CJ. Loc never got the same level of success though, seeing as Big Poppa bought the mansion and how Smoke wasn’t as much of a success as he wanted because of the riots and he became an even worse counterpart to Madd Dogg’s manager. In the end, CJ avenged Alan Crawford when he killed Smoke, because Smoke allowed OG Loc to take Madd Dogg’s place and funded his rise to fame to begin with. OG Loc is honestly lucky he’s not dead, but so was Madd Dogg who was saved by CJ. This is speculation on my part - OG Loc and Smoke could’ve easily had him killed because he was a witness and likely knew that OG Loc stole from him from his sources before fully succumbing to drugs and alcohol which happened soon afterwards. He became hopeless. It’s also possible that Big Poppa put in a good word for him because he wanted the mansion to be given to him without any problems, and most likely supplied him with cocaine shortly afterwards as well. CJ likely has sympathy for Madd Dogg out of guilt but if there is one thing that we know about him is that CJ is sympathetic towards drug addicts because he knows how much it ruins the community. He hates the suppliers, not the users and it is shown through the story and his friendships with some drug addicts. Sweet’s dislike of Madd Dogg at first is better rationalised now and it makes so much sense and in hindsight it shows his character development well.
