It’s on sim and could be a low awareness/run blocking attribute thing if that’s the case I love it. I hate when everyone does everything perfect just because you call a certain play. Or the fact everyone can make spectacular plays such as the toe drags on the sidelines. A 62 overall receiver shouldn’t be able to make 99 overall type plays

The highlight from 3:04 was telling. Toting that they've revamped endzone fade throws (impossible to execute in Madden), but cut away to a totally different angle after the catch before the ball was completed in the first angle showing the successful 'climbing the ladder' on the loft. Got the beta, so far the defense has been dominating. even online head to head. Pass rush is crazy, and zones are playing very well so far. very promising. Still needs tweaking for sure but i’ve liked what i’ve played

@@dwatson4651 I like the blitzing tho. When a team blitzes you you HAVE to get it out super fast, it disrupts plays, which is what a blitz should do IMO, high risk high reward. Like if i’m a team without a receiver that can beat man coverage alot, and the other team is blitzing me im screwed. unless you can run the ball and think up different ways of passing.

The blocking is still broken, I saw so many missed blocks where Line backers just shed the block and the blocker continues to run to the next person (corner or safety) ... That's cool we have more precise passing, but blocking is literally the backbone of offense if you're going to run the ball, so this whole new system for running will just be useless. I want to back this game so badly but year after year the most important things aren't fixed.

Most of this doesn’t look like new mechanics. For example I remember very well that in Madden 20, the defense could run into a WR and knock out the ball and it happened way too much, to the point of annoyance. Also the gang tackle has been sort of a thing, maybe it’s being improved.

These "mechanics" are all things ive seen happen many times in the game already to the point of annoyance, they're just highlighting it nd people are eating it up as if its a new addiction. Im done pleading for people to wake up, the gaming world is doomed. These companies shamelessly recycle, reintroduce features that were already there, annually, and people buy it because of our short attention spans.... Look at the comments "step in the right direction" or "looks like best Madden yet" instead of having a wait and see approach, people already forgave and forgot about the years of Madden screwing the fans and have their wallets out... Nothing will ever change

Madden 20 has way too many instances of receivers all being trash and all defenders being Sean Taylor and Deion Sanders. If you even breathe on the receiver he’ll drop the ball. Even after they already made contact with the ground and the play should be a completion

they actually made it so you have to play the receiver to get knockouts instead of playing ball, they completely revamped cutting with ball carriers, completely revamped cutting and releasing for route running, and completely revamped pass leading, but somehow it’s copy and paste? they’re forcing skill to be used for once in this game, if that’s not exciting for you, then go watch cocomelon

In the end, Madden 23 gameplay IS an improvement to Madden 22. Whatever the amount of improvement is subject to anyones personal opinion but the gameplay IS better. Now if they can just overhaul presentation (tv network packages, halftime and post game reports that are dynamic, and massively improved AI trade/draft logic whether it be during draft or in/off seasons for example getting trade offers from other teams for star players, and finally an updated off season then that’ s pretty close to a good Madden w/ a decent offline franchise mode experience.
