Some of the new things added was in Nfl 2k over 20 yrs ago like gang tackling animations and repeatedly tapping a button to break away from tackles 2k was way ahead of time but it looks like madden is moving in the right direction

And the last NCAA football game as well, specifically the quick cuts which were not done on the second stick but your actual movement stick and the precision passing, which also was not a "feature" but naturally built into the passing system and was effected by the qb's stats

Yeah the whole NFL 2k5 is the best game ever is objectively false. It's a boring slow game. Fun for simulation fans I suppose. Not for marketing. The whole selling point of gang tackling is annoying as hell, but people need to stop acting like 2K5 is the holy grail. It's gone and despite the nuances of football animations missing in Madden, doesn't make it a bad game. "It has glitches" That doesn't even deserve a response. "He stood there and didn't block his assignment" It's not that simple.

I do like how for face of the franchise they lock you into your character and not able to control everything. It’s something I’ve personally wanted for years. Makes the mode more enjoyable to me because it feels more realistic

The side missions are super repetitive. I’ve seen the same missions multiple times and I’m only on week 2 of the regular season. While the mode needs a ton of work to get it the classic superstar mode level this is the best the mode has been. In my opinion

Best gameplay I’ve seen maybe ever in terms of realism. It’s hard to score. No one play scores. Tackling and zone coverage are much improved. People punt on 4th down. It’s been great. Glitches and bugs still but gameplay is incredible

Doing a panthers franchise and I can’t tell you how dominant the run is with Christian maccaffrey with the new cutting system. Also the new passing system is nice. Gives you the opportunity to make those throws against good coverage.

The last Madden I truly enjoyed was 18, graphics are crisp, presentation was better, and you the atmosphere of the game was intense. While it didn’t have in depth features like ESPN 2K5, it was still a great game. Now this years Madden compared to last years seems the same but with a lot of gameplay improvements. As I played, the presentation was trash in my book and the games were entirely too fast. There are no longer cutscenes for breaking the huddle. Didn’t have time to select a proper play when the a.i ran no huddle. It’s just too arcade like. If EA really want to win the pure simulation fanatics back, I suggest they take a page out of MLB the Show or NBA 2K when it comes to presentation.

Looks good but I'm still gonna wait until this game goes on sale to try it out. I was disappointed with 22. Another big change EA needs to put in is put a WHOLE separate game in there for a 4th quarter of every game. Different commentary, different player animations, different crowd animations. Show the shots of the audience more often either covering their faces, biting their nails, banging on chairs and walls, increase crowd noise. Commentary should be intense after EVERY play in the 4th quarter for close games. Then maybe a bonus would be adding fans leaving the game when home team is getting blown or shut out. Additionally, idk if they added it for this one, but if you kneel down under 40 seconds and the other team doesn't have any timeouts, the offense should get the option to just end the game right there and have teams running onto the field to shake hands. Not saying it should be automatic because the offense could be in a position where they need to kick the game winning FG and they're just trying to bleed as much clock down as possible, but it should be optional. Shouldn't have to wait until 0:00 to end the game.

I noticed the player models don't look quite right?? A lot of guys have huge lineman calf's, the padding or lack there of and they seem to get rid of the "Regular" jersey sleeve length. Pat mahomes jersey sleeves aren't what's in Madden 23??? Not a huge gripe but just small things I've noticed.

Played face of the franchise this morning and oh boy. The bugs and glitches are so bad. Ultimate team is amazing! Loving it this year! Franchise mode has some nice additions. Gameplay is so much better this year. Defense is way tougher this season and I love it! Always up for a challenge. I’m about 4 hours in and it’s a great game this year.

At least in franchise mode on All Madden difficulty, the tackling for your team is just terrible. The CPU team breaks every individual tackle no matter which player it is trying to make the tackle (ie. Roquan Smith or Derwin James cannot get solo tackles). I am all for having the CPU offense being harder to defend and score more points, but let's have them play by the same rules as the user team. I also have some still images of my OL just standing their letting the DL blow passed them with no resistance at all. There is definitely some work that needs to be done to the gameplay on Simulation. However, the new passing system does feel promising.
