Paying $70 for continued legacy gameplay issues, stiff player models, goofy presentation and emote celebrations is crazy. Not to mention the football experience as a whole is outdated (Defensive coverages such as Cover 3 Buzz Mable aren’t in game , player physical attributes such as wingspan aren’t accounted for and various positional techniques such as soft shoe or read step press for CB’s , or robot for LB’s aren’t replicated well or not at all.)

The game is running on the Frostbite engine. And STILL using legacy code form more than 15 years ago. There really isn't a lot they can do short of rebuilding the game from the ground up. Which would end up with even less content than the game already has. Initially. Until EA would decide to add it back in.

I work for a marketing company, never ever EVVER trust “critique” reviews. We did so much for a new energy drink and we had to send content to reviewers. They were so desperate to please our customer because of the “honor” of reviewing. From the KZbinrs to the food critics in senior citizen magazines. If they don’t please our customers, they know they won’t have early access to new product in the future. Have you tried it since FRIDAY'S UPDATE ?? ! ITS heading in the right direction. It will take a few UPDATES before it gets really enjoyable just like madden 23 , it took them 4 months to get it right after release. If you played madden 23 on game pass after the NFL season had ended that was madden 23 in its polished state , during the real NFL season it was a hot mess . I beared through it like alot of others

The only good thing about annual sports games is you can buy the older games that are mostly the same game for a fraction of the price. In NBA 2K at least you can upload custom rosters to franchise mode. The only reason to buy a sports game every year is because most of the online players jump ship to the new game.

Truthfully, I think all sports games leave a lot to be desired. Mainly because none of them have competition so they aren’t very innovative. Annual releases hold back progress. i swear the people championing the training camp drills are just mixed up in their feelings of nostalgia. the training camp games, the pass rushing one in particular, are all terrible. Yes. We (the players) have discovered it uses more CPU than GPU, meaning the game is not properly optimized for pc. I personally doubt they’re going to go to the base code to fix it but at least they’re aware.

Review from a casual gamer: I haven’t played madden in 5 years, I found it pre owned 3 days after release at game stop pre owned so I decided to pick it up. I can tell the changes they’ve made in 5 years but I can also see issues that were there 5 years ago still persist today. One thing that makes the game nearly unplayable is how laggy the menus are, you press the X button and it take a solid 5 seconds for the game to react if you’re trying to go to the trade center or something like that. Also I’m not sure if it’s just my PS5 or my tv but when you play on visual instead of performance mode it was like I was watching a slide show while playing it was so bad.

I played one game on the 10 hour trial. I had the kicking meter disappear, noticed that the ball spins faster when you go slower on replay (on a fumble), stepping OB when there’s clearly room but the animation stinks and a bug where I had to pause the game again to get the UI up. Not to mention an insane 5.1 speaker glitch. GamesRadar knows what’s up.

Ryan, I meant ask you this question in an earlier video. Does camera angle/perspective determine or affect ball trajectory and resulting catch animations? Sometimes, it looks like passes change trajectory to conplete a catch animation. This seemed to be the case in the Tyreke Hill video.

I just want ball carriers to look accurate to football. Just a basic simple running animation to represent what a real runner looks like. Not talking about player input animations like juke, spin, hurdle etc but just basic running. Runners don't awkwardly lean forward and turn their heads completely left and right to look at incoming defenders like they are bird. They don't raise their arms by their chest to switch the ball to the outside hand they don't all look the same when they are in full speed sprint. A few years ago we got a signature kamara and cam newton running animations and were promised more to come within that year. Not only did we not get more but they removed the only two signature running animations we had. A few QB signature throwing animation should not be the only thing in this entire game that separate players from each other. Madden needs 2k's ProPlay for super star players so each game actually feels like a different game. Madden is excruciatingly repetitive and that is so unacceptable for arguably the greatest sport ever. We have one option for a NFL experience and we have to have this horse shit every single year...

EA in a lot of ways mirrors WWE in this regard to me. They've been mid for some time, but since their core audience loves it, they could care less about the rest no matter how spot on the criticisms are. Thing is, EA doesn't have a game it can lean on least not recently that gives you cause for hope. Cause we are many years removed from that point with this game. WWE's commitment to mediocrity oddly enough cleared the way for an alternative named All Elite Wrestling which has given wrestling fans a suitable alternative which most felt was next to impossible after their competition got bought out 22 years ago. I'm really not sure what that looks like for EA cause I don't think it's enough for Maximum Football or even the other game Legends Bowl, fans want an NFL game and furthermore, we should have an NFL title that simulates the experience of not just playing but running a team. I didn't know until recently that Gaudin actually calls games for the Braves, who are one of the best teams in all of MLB right now. Someone commented that hearing him call their games and then hearing him in Madden is like a night and day difference. Wish I could put my finger on why that is, I tell you what. The reviews are finally getting wise to what we've seen and known all along. Sadly, we're past the point where we can trust or should trust EA to do anything about it.

The Madden product has tanked thanks to EA sports. Scary to think how they are going to damage NCAA Football when it comes out. I have no faith in their ability to make that a good game like it was before they had to quit making them

What I came to realize is they are doing one of two things 1.working on both madden 23 and 24 at once or they are spending the equivalent of a child’s summer vacation working on madden 24 because they usually stop updating the game in late April. They need to take some years off or drop the license!

No, this is how it's always been with gaming scores. A 70 isn't good, it's average; a 50 isn't average, it's bad; and a 30 isn't bad, it's unplayable.

To be honest with you, EA deserves the hard criticism. And some of these comments are right... EA needs their feathers ruffled & some disrespect. These review scores that are 60 and down tell the truth.. And yes, EA been lost it 10 years ago or longer. To be honest I can't speak for everyone in the Comment section, However, the best days of EA was in the PlayStation 2 era 360 Era 😢🤷🏾‍♂️ It's practically over for them.

I was really looking forward to some of the changes they announced for franchise mode… but they released another incomplete / broken game. Plus they removed 6-7 relocation teams while adding numerous locations (that appeal to FIFA fans). Now there’s a patch / update… to fix things that should never have been broken. Slow menus, bad logic and less choices… 🤦‍♂️🤬

i get madden every year, i thought this 1 would really change but its very trash. I cant run match zone coverage because it don't work at all. 95% of people runs nothing but man coverage and its very hard to beat even if you know what you are doing. If i beat it, guess what my damn Qb cant make the pass. I get penalize for running the same running play under center while my opponent have 3 down lineman in a dollar formation. I cant defend this game anymore
