Oooohhhh I forgot you did an unboxing video of this! You're welcome!!!! 😉Nice to see her freed from her box there.... Look at that long hair! She looks SOOOO 70's! Like Tanner, she is also giving me strong Beauty Secrets vibes, even though she was a couple of years earlier. And yes! I was thinking very Cheryl Tiegs, too. I still remember reading about her and Christie Brinkley, Lauren Hutton and Jerry Hall in one of my Mum's copies of Women's Weekly about the top models of the time as a kid. Love the illustrations of the fashions on the box! I have a few of those fashions, and I'm glad that you brought up that they were also sold as Ward's fashions and as Pedigree's Sindy's fashions around the same time. (My Sindy fashions still have their Mego tags inside, even though these were taken from NRFP!) I love how several toy companies traded things like that at the time.

Oh, you saved me with this. You have no idea. Thank you! This is my first time seeing an actual Maddie Mod doll. i have only ever seen fashion packs. i honestly thought "Maddie Mod" was a name for budget doll clothing brand in the 70s. Lol Maddie is cute. VERY 70s. She definitely looks like an actress who mainly appeared in made-for-television movies of that decade. i can't pin down exactly whom. .. she's kind of an amalgamation of all the blonde actresses of that time. Her big smile reminds me of the Disco Wanda doll, made by Shindana.

There are some fantastic books out there but they are so expensive and I would rather buy a doll 😂 Luckily Eddi gets a lot of great books and I just steal them 😈 This is one of the last incarnations. The earlier and more common dolls look very strange. Almost psychotic. Oh! If you figure out who please tell me! Oh! I see Wanda too! I have always wanted a Wanda. Eddi has one, but i think it is a friend "Juanita" or something like that 🤷🏼‍♂️

You look gorgeous, Deany! So I am thinking CHERYL LADD! She looks to have the same face mold as the Superstar by Palitoy who was supposed to be the Cheryl Ladd doll for Mego, but Cheryl had the contract with Mattel. Can you verify for me if it is the same face screening as Palitoy? You may just have the Cheryl Ladd doll in an 11.5 inch body. LOVE!! Thanks for sharing! Such a nice gift from Eddi!

Aww, thank you Sis! Oh, she does look a lot like the Superstar doll! I have always wanted that doll! But I think she is a little different. Superstar seems to have bigger teeth and a rounder face. Still, they are close enough 🤷🏼‍♂️ Maybe she WAS meant to be Cheryl too!? Love you Sis! ❤️

I think the wire in the legs was more purposed for weight for the body so they can n sit without tipping over.

That may be another reason for the wire. But I believe Coppertone Candi does not have the wire and she seems to be able to sit. But to my knowledge all of the Maddie Mod dolls have wire in them and are pictured with their legs bent in all directions. It never looks good though.

LOVEEEEEE IT!!!!!! GORGEOUS DOLL!!!!! This MADDIE MOD fashion doll is giving me 1979 Beauty Secrets Barbie vibes!!! Those bangs and long hair reminds me so much of her!!! Okay and her hot pink swimsuit gives me 1964 PAK Barbie in the swim vibes also 🤣🤣🤣 for a Budget doll she seems pretty amazing to me. Great video! It's always nice to see a vintage discount doll in more or less pristine condition, it seems like girls tended to let loose their aggression on the cheaper gals.

Thank you! I agree, it is truly something special. It may also be the type of girls (and boys) that got the cheaper dolls. But I always got clones and took good care of them. My sister didn't though, I remember dobbing her in for cutting her dolls hair the day after we were told to take good care of them.

Like most girls from the late 60's/early 70's I had quite a few of her clothes as they fit Barbie on a budget. I remember seeing the dolls back in the day but was not impressed. I'm now trying to 'collect them all' (the fashions). My mom was a big Montgomery Wards shopper so I most likely got a few of my Maddie fashions from the catalog. The fashions were very on point for the time period. Very very mod, but so poorly made with cheap materials. Love your video.

she kinda reminds me of the spice girl baby spice aka emma bunting but with a tan. in the mid or late 90's film spice world theres a scene where her hair is down and all she would need is a pink swim suit and she could of been the doll's double.

@@DeanReen I found her on ebay. She was a very good price. Only $30 including free shipping. Loose but completely mint. Her head still had the plastic ring around it. Her and Coppertone Candi are sharing all the Jordache clothes I own. I love her.

I don’t recall these dolls at all, thou I was not allowed to play with dolls as a kid oh no no. So I use to play with my female Cousin Barbie dolls in secret 🥰

I thought Princess Grace Dolls and Maddie Mod we're different dolls with a similar face sculpt? 🤔 The previous Maddie Mod with the chipmunk face was also made by Mego I believe (as were the 60s Maddie Mod fashions). Princess Grace Dolls were slightly different and not made by Mego (?) But don't quote me on that! This was a competitor/knock-off to superstar and Malibu dolls.

Thank you 😊❤ I believe I read that info in a book Eddi let me borrow. I just checked some eBay listings for Maddie Mod clothing and the few packaged fashions I found are copyrighted "Princess Grace Dolls Inc." I'm not sure exactly when it changed to Mego. I think it must have been the early 70s.

@@DeanReen you're right, they're marked both ways: 1970+ Mego Maddie Mod doll, 11 1/2" tall, rooted hair, painted facial features, jointed body, doll marked Mego Corp 1970 Hong Kong. Barbie competitor. 1967-1972 Mego Princess Grace doll company sold a look a like Maddie doll, who is marked Princess Grace

Very good job! I love dawn and I used to own a few but they weren't for me. I found they made my collection look cluttered. Perhaps if I had room for a seperate display I would collect them ❤️😊
