I'm a 54-year-old grandfather and I live in Northern Ireland, we're renown for being hard men but this song broke my heart. I have two granddaughter one of whom turns a teenager this year and I know that sometime they are gonna feel like this. I want to protect them and make everything wonderful for them but I know some guy is gonna break their hearts. They have great Moms and dads but life is life. Just wanted to say this song touches so many people.

A broken heart I swear is worse than death itself. Whether you lose someone you deeply love thru a breakup or a death, the pain is blinding. Time does not always mend the broken heart, rather we learn to adapt to the devastation and destruction. This is a very sweet song that I believe many can relate to. Whomever out there is suffering, maybe you can make amends and find some sense of peace in the storm. I send you love light and peace, beloved beings.

I remember going home immediately my relationship ended, and I hadn't told my mum, I think she could feel the pain, I was trying to be strong and I was bleeding inside. She found me staring vacantly on a wall in the kitchen and told me, "you will heal". That has carried me far. 6 months have passed, the pain has lessened to a dull throb, but I am forever grateful that I had my mum's silent support and prayers through it all.

What I love the most about this is how the questions for “mama” start off so casual before the transition to emotion and heartbreak comes out. It takes me back to when I was heartbroken, calling my mom to talk about my day and then progressing to tears, telling her it hurt so bad I felt like I would die. It’s so raw and real - how do you get a red wine stain out of a dress, how do you get black mascara off a pillowcase...how does he sleep at night??... I feel this song on so many levels

So so true. I had to leave my 27 yrs old daughter behind in California to move to Texas. It's been 6 months now and she'll turn 28 at the end of August. All I want is to be with her on her 28th birthday and every day after that. Some days I truly feel I will die of a broken heart. Shes all I have.😔

No it’s not... there’s a possibility you can see that person again...I’ve felt loss when they are only 45 minutes away.. or even three streets away... but when grim takes them.. it’s a different break.. it leaves a wound so deep, it can never heal.. and you’ll never know that until grim takes someone that you love unconditionally. You’re blessed if you don’t know it... and I feel sorry for you for the day you do.. because no one prepares you for it.. no one tells you the truth.. it doesn’t get easier with time.. time doesn’t heal... the pain never fades, the tears flow when you want it to stop, you’re broken in times of happiness, because that’s a memory you’ve made without your loved one, you try to call them or text them and suddenly realise oh fuck, I forgot for a moment, and your old memories break you because they were there and now they aren’t... you wake up forgetting they aren’t therrr anymore and you make a plan with yourself to go to see them or call them or shout them upstairs, and then there’s a deafening silence.. because they can never answer... it breaks you all over again .. it’s a constant flow of pain and devastation... it’s the worst feeling in the whole world.

Every time i watch this video, i get a lump in my throat & ive heard it about a million times. This song is 100% the definition of what a heartbreak feels & looks like. The part where it says "you didnt see the way he drove away" hit me SO hard thr first time i heard it because thats how my first real heartbreak happened. He just drove away without caring. & I never thought i would get over it. But it does get better with time.

I almost tear up when listening to this because I feel like this song perfectly depicts the 11 year trauma bond that I experienced. Right down to the part part about him speeding away and me crying in the dark. It brings back memories of the hell I encountered but I would not be who I am today without that experience. It’s not true that it will ever be something to “laugh about one day” but rest assured that the trauma bond does eventually break and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. In 2017-2018 my life was a living hell and at times I even felt that there was no way out but now I’ve reached a level of contentment and pure happiness. I could not be happier with how far Ive come ❤️

This song gave me goosebumps. It's like I could feel her pain. Been there before. And of'course it hurt so very bad but now I'm alright. To all the girls out there with a broken heart, it's gonna be okay. You'll be alright. Just take it day by day and always put yourself first. Soon they'll get what they deserve for breaking your faithful heart. Don't let anyone take that smile off that face. Show 'em that you're better, that they don't deserve you, and shine from the inside out doll! ❤💫

I remember laying in bed after my first serious relationship ended. He was abusive and in the end left me for someone else. I left almost everything I owned at our then joint home and when I got to my mom's and she opened the door I just lost it. Both my eyes were black I had blood all over myself but I couldn't feel it.... I remember her singing to me a few days later as she gently brushed chunks of my hair out. I remember laying there for weeks and weeks I just cried and slept, I literally felt like I could die. The whole time my momma never left my side. She fought with me, screamed I didn't deserve it, cried with me, held me. Looking back at my life now every broken heart I went through she went through to. She hurt just because I hurt. That's love. If anyone is reading this. Your going to do fine babygirl I swear. Don't look back and don't go back. It'll NEVER change. You are worth it, it isn't you okay? And YOY WILL FIND SOMEONE ELSE WHO TRULY MAKES YOU HAPPY. I did. I've been blessed to spend the last 5 years with someone who's everything I ever wanted and more. YOU DESERVE THAT TO! it gets easier I swear. Xoxo

Hearing this song brings me back! For real, I thought I was going to die. That’s not an exaggeration. My heart was beyond broken and this song, man. I can see, hear, feel and taste it all over again listening to these lyrics!💔 To anybody going through this right now. I know you feel like you can’t breath.
