I miss my heelys. The best place to wear them was the supermarket or the mall because the floor was so smooth, with a run up you could glide so far. I never ever wanted to go shopping with my mum before I got the heelys but when I had them I'd always be asking her when she was next going so I could go too. Then I'd ask her for things she needed around the store so I would have an excuse to use them when I fetched the item.

I had a knockoff black pair of heelys with a button behind to take out the wheel and put it back without your hands, they were huge like DC’s and I looked like a boy but still wore them everywhere. I think the tag line in the commercial was a punny twist of the saying 'freedom is a will in your soul' aka a person's will to want to live freely. So they replaced 'will' with 'wheel' and 'soul' with 'sole' to (I think) demonstrate that having Heely's gives you a passion for freedom.

See, in my area of England around the same time Heelys were a girl thing and I don't remember boys having them at all. Everyone was crap on them too- if they wanted to "heel" more than a metre they'd have to get a parent to drag them along as well!
