I'm glad you did the ancestry dna it has the largest sample population to compare with which with dna is exactly what you want. Your my heritage and 23 and me ones are so general when it comes to Asian and Native American population. The my heritage one results drove me crazy the dna pool is the smallest of the three and comes out funky. I think it's best when you attach a family tree to ancestry dna you get a more detailed ethnicity mix. My sister has done her dna but doesn't show a tree and her results are more general compared to mine with a detailed tree. Also remember non paternal events happen that may explain some dna surprises.

wow I had no idea it was part of America there too, how cool for that insight; do people from mainland US travel there to visit or not so much?
@maddjsas Жыл бұрын
Not many mainlanders visit. If so, it's usually work related or military (Guam). But many locals go stateside on vacation, for college or relocate. I lived in Hawaii for some time and my sibling currently lives in New York.

I think the Spanish brought the Filipinos over as well as Filipinos might have been mixed with the Spanish coming into Guam back in the days

Maybe if they needed manpower but I doubt. Imagine the room and resources they would take up. Filipinos In Guam is something fairly new.

@user-en5hg5mw7l....The Spaniards did bring Filipino's to Guam as well,but not sure if these were Indigenous Filipino's or the Mestizo Filipino's.

Learned something new today. I was always curious if they were the same people or different in Guam and Mariana Islands

Glad to hear that. When it comes to our history, we were very much alike, if not the same in the days of our ancestors. It's more of the recent history (last 100 years) that has made the biggest difference. But DNA wise, I would say you couldn't see much of a difference.

Very nice 👍👌I've first seen results from someone of Guam

have you ever been to the mainland US to visit? if so, where and when? I'm just so curious :) ofc don't share if you don't want to
@maddjsas Жыл бұрын
Not really sure when but I've been to a number of states. Most people stick to the West Coast. It's the cheapest unless you have family on the East Coast. It'll cost just about $2000 to get from here to Los Angeles. That's why most people go to Japan, South Korea, Philippines and up until a few years ago Hong Kong on vacation. It's closer and a whole lot cheaper.

I notice that people from Guam have indigenous Mexico in them I wonder if either mestizos from Mexico went to Guam or if Spaniards brought indigenous Mexicans to Guam?
@sagittariusone27538 ай бұрын
@ce7133....The Spaniards were the one's who brought the Mestizo Mexicans and Indigenous Mexicans to Guam.
