Rachel Maddow rounds up instances in which Donald Trump not only assures his supporters that if he is elected they won't have to vote in the future, but also that even for this 2024 election he does not need votes. Maddow posits that the reason Trump doesn't care about votes is that he intends to win by manipulating the administration of the voting tabulation.

Repubs have worked for decades to undermine those checks and balances. They (and probably their foreign masters) examined the system and found the weak spots. Once they got their puppet President installed they could fill all the roles that could not be unfilled (like PostMaster General) with henchmen, and any attempts to change the system to remedy this could be blocked. That's why Mitch McConnell worked so hard to stack the Supreme Court with far-right nutcases.

My mother voted for Trump twice and she is going to vote for him a third time. Yesterday, texted her the news clip to her when he said that you won't have to vote anymore and this is what she said: "He loves trolling MSM. His supporters know we'll have more freedoms with his administration." (MSM is mainstream media.) Ironically, we live in Iowa and yesterday was the day the 6-week abortion ban went into effect. I'm so saddened by who she has become. She's a nurse and I no longer trust her on medical issues because she also didn't believe in the covid vaccine. I keep going back and forth on whether or not I should end my relationship with her. She professes to love me and my family and spending time together, but unfortunately she still thinks this is about politics instead of democracy versus fascism. I don't know what to do.

They are supposed to… but If they get bribed… (it has been a while since I read up on that, but I am pretty sure I’m right). There are legal repercussions for not voting “correctly” but I believe the vote given by the electoral College representative can’t be simply overturned. I’m very scared that the billionaires will just buy the election.
