Humans are the material manifestation of the immaterial God's loving presence in and watchcare over the physical world. We stand for Him. Is that what you are saying?

No.
@NTWrightOnline2 жыл бұрын
Yes, we might nuance it just slightly to say that human beings are called to be the material representatives of the invisible God.

Good connection to the temple language even here. So, as image bearer of God (restored image of the devine now), on this earth as the temple should we humans receive worship?

I know I'm a year late, but I would like to add something that may be misunderstood with temples. Temples don't receive worship. You don't worship a temple, they are places for worship to something else. If anything this language that we are a temple should be encouraging, you, directly you can do stuff for the direct worship of God. You don't need to go anywhere, or somewhere specific to do so.

@@executer40 I agree with you. But I commented in light of the video content that seems to disagree with your point.

How would Tom square Genesis 1:24 with Genesis 2:7? 'let the earth bring forth' vs. 'God FORMED man from the dust OF the earth'?
@NTWrightOnline2 ай бұрын
Great question! Tom has contributed significantly to Biologos.org and has many articles there that will help you understand his views. This one is helpful to understand how language was intended in ancient contexts: biologos.org/resources/understanding-ancient-texts-with-n-t-wright. Also, for more depth, you may consider the book, "The Lost World of Genesis One: Ancient Cosmology and the Origins Debate" by John Walton. Tom, who shares similar perspectives to Walton, also contributes to this book. Tom also offers an online course on Genesis in which you may be interested. Another interpretation of man being made in the image of God. There are so many of them out there.

Genesis 1 is Lucifer and the fallen angels. They made man in their image. Man is an idol, a trap for angels. One Gospel: Gospel of Reconciliation. Jesus Christ came into THEIR kingdom to reconcile fallen angels unto Himself. We are the fallen angels (ELOHIM) kept in DNA chains of darkness. If you do not confess being a fallen angel in Lucifer's kingdom, then you are an unbeliever. Unbeliever = those that claim to be made in the image of God (ELOHIM).
@normanholditch45042 жыл бұрын
To say that god made man in his own image (no evidence for this) is ignoring the story of evolution (overwhelming evidence).
@michaelkistner62862 жыл бұрын
That's only a problem if you read the text as a science book.
@benboulet1724 Жыл бұрын
Evolution overwhelming evidence 😂 sure. What evidence would you need because both creation and evolution needs a miracle to get them off the ground. A miracle with a miracle maker or a miracle without a miracle maker. Yep evolution sounds super logical alright shoved down your throat for 12 years and If evolution is true why care what anyone really believes in cause we’re just DNA dancing to our own tune.
@danielmooney11385 ай бұрын
The evidence that evolution is junk science is overwhelming. The idea that the universe and all it contains happened by accident has no basis in real science.
