Fun facts .. Jim Sarbh and Kalki dated after her split from Anurag Kashyap. They did a few projects together.. movies, shorts, theater, etc. Jim Sarbh is of Persian descent. He grew up in Australia and India. And got a degree from Emory in the U.S. Also, Arjun Mathur (who plays Karan) was born in the U.K. and spent a little part of his childhood there before moving to India. He lost his mom as a teen. And also went to the Lee Strasberg Theater & Film Institute in Manhattan.

Interesting how all these people in the comments keep repeating that Tara tricked Adil into marrying her as if Adil did not make the conscious choice to cheat on his fiancé. You can't just point out only her deception and give a free pass to Adil. She wouldn't have been successful in her plan if Adil had just a bit of self-control and did not f*** another woman while being engaged to someone. They are both awful people, stop making only her the villain. (edit: f word, someone tells me Yt remove comments otherwise)

Reaction of americans on such shows is eye opening. For most people getting out of a complex ssituation is not as simple as privileged americans think. I understand its unfair but being liberal about your whole world outlook also needs privilege that most people in the west have and most people otherwise dont. Its like the west complaining about the swetshops in China and dignity of labour. But most chinese workers prefer it over having nothing or starving.

Totally agree. It is definitely not easy to get out of marriage and specially her character is complex coz she was from a low class and paved her way to get inside the rich class society. To give up the all that would be even difficult. In west everyone is privileged and if taken a divorce will get hefty alimony. Whereas in India it’s not the same.

Yall not understanding why Tara can’t leave him,is because she doesn’t wanna go back to that form of life she had before, she was underprivileged and came from a village, all she’s ever been taught is to climb up the social ladder and get out of her awful life. She has to deal with the cheating in her eyes and try and make sure he stops doing it so much because that’s all she can do,she can’t just pick up and leave like you guys are saying to just do.

I binged this show last weekend, and I was absolutely shocked. What Zoya is showing on the show seems like a whole diff world, with the open class bashing, and the ridiculous grooming scenes next ep. As a dude living in Bangalore, I didn’t even know things were this bad with rich class. The average middle class people that I hang out with aren’t this shitty lol

She doesn’t leave because she married him only for the money. She got a class upgrade and gets be part of the elite society only because she plotted against him and tricked him into marrying her. Is it so difficult for Americans to understand what a Gold Digger is? Kalki and Jim’s characters are weak because they’re not in control of their lives. Shobhita’s character is in total control and she knows what she wants.
