I didn't show the parking brake pawl/spring removal in this video. Check the video for removal of the valve chest here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnWakHiFnM6Dgqc Should start at the right timestamp for the parking brake pawl/spring removal.

Im watching these episodes backwards for some reason but it still makes sense to me. Another nice tidy job. (Im playing catch up)

Well, at least that says to me that it's cohesive, even backwards!

God vid Shane. I thought my quadrant spring looked not to be in right place. I'll have to check it again and see what's broken. Have the final drive out at moment and removing brake drum for marching back to round. Will be in a video in a future. M😀

I've been checking your instagram posts on it! I'm going to need to replace my left brake shoes at some point, I have zero brakes on that side. Only the right side works.

@@path.of.discovery You are in for some fun then. At least you will not have to fight the diff lock. Just been to get 5" bolts for removing brake drum. 1/2" 13 tpi. will have to cut the thread a good bit longer to get the drum off. There will be vid's on KZbin in the coming weeks about it.M

Hi Shane. Great video again. Just one comment but I’m sure you’ll have read it in the manual. The friction washers shouldn’t be so tight so as to stop the spring pushing the lever forward out of the “Select and External” part of the quadrant when you let go. Otherwise you run the risk of the pump pumping into a dead end and the pressure relief screaming. In any case, I don’t think you can properly adjust the friction washers until you’ve got it all reassembled as the spring on the connecting rod changes the lever resistance.

David, thanks so much for this! I did read that, but had totally forgotten about it! I'll loosen it up before doing the Adjustments. THANK YOU!

No problem. By the way, the DBTC forum seems to have been on and off for me this last week. Is that the same for you?

@@David.Monkhouse Yes. The facebook group has a post where they say the main club site got hacked. The forum seems to be ok, but it's offline since they had to take the main site down.

It seems to be back up but has time warped back to 2018. It doesn’t recognise my login and there are no posts newer than 2018. I hope they can recover it all. I don’t fancy uploading all my photos again, not to mention all the lost advice. Perhaps I’ll start a KZbin channel instead!

@@David.Monkhouse I REALLY hope they get the newer posts back. Lots and Lots of knowledge is just gone if they can't. I tried to see if the Wayback machine Internet archive has the posts, but it only the post listings, not the content. web.archive.org/web/20220819200821/dbtc.co.uk/phpBB3/ As of August 2022. Couldn't you hear me telling you how to strip it down lol mine for my 880 got refurbished last summer my lever wouldn't stay up in place but both my friction disc got worn out so I would say for how little they are I would replace them mine come from David Brown parts company. Good video

Are the disks replaceable in situ, without removing the quadrant and valve housing? (Great videos)

Hey Shane, l had too go through that as the quadrant lever had busted off the shaft, fiddley bloody thing, anyway, we got a used one from all states ag parts, as for that washer, l believe it’s called a star locking washer?🙂
@path.of.discovery Жыл бұрын
Thanks a bunch for that washer name! Does All States Ag Parts have a good supply of David Brown parts? I'm trying to keep an updated list of parts suppliers on my video description of "How to find help for your David Brown". If you recommend them, I'll add them to the list in the description of that video. Thanks for watching!
