Overkill was my 1st metat/rock concert, unless ya count Kiss when I was like 7-8, they played the "Timberwolf" at Kings Island (it was the equivelent of Riverbend at Coney Isle of that time). I also remember (u still still find em on YT) clips of Metallica on the Justice & Black album tours with James Het & Bobby G drinkin & clowning in hotel rooms. So James had Bobby on the road with him. Good friends, maybe techin for him? Bobby "was" O-kill on those first 2 albums. They're still 1 o my fav bands, & the guitarists now are great, but it would be cool to see BG onstage with em again, even if it's just for a few songs

Every opinion is always welcomed. No one can replace the great Bobby Blitz. To this day, he still can deliver and forever be an influence for me. My goal as a singer that night was not to simply imitate him but to capture the Overkill feel, and being the die hard fan that I am, I just couldn't mess this up. Of all the tributes I've been a part of, this has to be the toughest and FUNEST I've ever done. And of course Made of Metal thanks Thrash Godfather, Bobby Gustafson for joining us that night the true head bangers miss him! Thank you for watching the videos!

Bobby is self centered and so full of himself. He's jealous because Overkill are still around and doing really well without him. This guy lives in the past and talks crap about Overkill not giving him royalties. He needs to know that just because he says he wrote everything he played on he owns 100% of the music is completely false. Look it up, it clearly says written by Overkill meaning everyone is credited. So when Bobby left the band he basically cut all ties with the band. He doesn't own any of the songs because its owned by Overkill. The little man blocked me on Twitter because he didn't like what i was saying and he knows i am right about what i say. Plus him saying Overkill mostly plays his era of songs live is false. Overkill always balance their songs out. No matter what i or anyone says to him he always attacks by using opinions rather than facts.
@dkyelak4 жыл бұрын
There are two sides to the story and I tend to lean toward Blitz. I think after G left, Overkill really changed and their output was spotty to me ever since. I will just say it was unfortunate that split had to happen.

Bullshit overkill was great until cannavino and Merritt go away they now just play generic songs that sounds like a never ending album same style same sound so dont talk shit
@deadliestassassin30923 ай бұрын
@Apocalypse2031 I think you're clueless bud. I never said anything about album sales. What are you on about? Maybe lay off the pipe a bit. Their setlists will always feature stuff from the 80's because why not lol? Its just like Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica, etc. But theres a reason why Overkill did a Anniversary show of the first album and Horrorscope for dvd because Feel the Fire is their beginnings and Horrorscope is alot of fans favorite. Years of Decay sure, its their peak of that era but Horrorscope showed the band didn't need Bobby Gustafson anymore. He's a hard guy to work with to say the least lol. The first album to be honest doesn't hold very well as a debut compared to other classic thrash bands. The 2nd album which is one i defend alot but people say they hadn't gotten their sound yet and its very old sounding. I love it. 3rd album and 4th are classics but i have to say if fans are stuck on just their 80's period then i believe they're not really fans of the band. Maybe they like a few albums but thats it lol. I love every single album they made. They're my favorite thrash band next to Megadeth and Sepultura.

@Apocalypse2031 And besides, what band still sells more lets say after 94 over album sells? Bands don't make much from touring either. Plus have you noticed the trend with alot of bands releasing a new album every 3-5 plus years? Overkill never made a lot to begin with when compared to a band like Megadeth lol. So what you're saying sounds dumb. If Bobby Gustafson is so great what has he done since leaving Overkill? Some dumb irrelevant projects that no one cares about and Vio-lence ep which he left right after along with most of the lineup WOW, what a legacy LOL.
