I've got the same model, bought it new 30 years ago still going strong. The safety clutch on these is great feature, not seen on many new drills, saves breaking the drill bit if it jams, or throwing you off a ladder. I'll never sell it...

Thanks for your efforts to put this out. It’s a fantastic drill. I have one for over 30 years and managed to restore it thanks to your very clear and complete video.

That's a really well made drill. Worth restoring - you literally can't buy a new drill which is as good. Well done. 👍

Nice work. I love the irony of KZbin showing me ads for buying a new metabo drill when I'm clearly interested in the restoration of an existing one.

My father gives me his drill, the same one, 10 years ago, he had it for 30+ years... And for the fist time the drill refuse to work... And it just an open wire in the main alimentation cable... Everything inside is PERFECT! 30 yo and the bearing and motor is in a very good shape! They know how to make stuff!

Made in Poland Do odkurzania domu.

Consumer powertools are definitally pieces of crapp these days. You should go for the professional series used by construction workers, but even these have a lower lifespan than powertools made decades ago. Purly a choice of manufacturers to reduce costs and sell more in the same time.

I have a metabo drill looks a lot like that but it has the reverse on the brushes and you move the brushes to 2 different positions to change rotation, the variable speed trigger was U/S so I ordered a new replacement and fitted it and it ran correctly for 5 minutes and then died again, only worked on full speed, so I bought a cheap Chinese replacement variable speed trigger for $7 delivered and it has been running for 2 years now and I still have a second spare 1.
