Outstanding Video... I applaud this young Lady's efforts, to treat her Chickens with dignity. We, the humans of the world were given a gift of Dominion over the plants & animals of this world. With that gift came a responsibility to treat every thing on this planet with dignity & respect. Even if you raise animals for slaughter. you can do it with dignity & respect.God Bless the Good Folks...

The color of the ear determines color of the egg. my Brown leghorns lay white eggs as they have white ears. Now of course there are exceptions to this rule, but it generally is consistent.

What you do is truly wonderful .....something I have dreamed of doing myself. Have you considered feeding your chickens whole grains instead so that they can choose for themselves which grains to eat depending on their needs and which is more nutritious due to preventing oxidation of the good oils in grains when they are ground up. My chickens have this choice and their tastes do change as they have had enough of a particular grain for a while. It is very interesting. The grains I use are cracked corn, milo/sorghum, safflower, barley, oats, wheat and some budgie mix. Keep up the good work, showing our world how things need to be done !!

Might be true for your certain breeds, but definitely not true that the chicken's feather color effects the egg color, once you start breeding chickens you can breed any color bird to lay any color egg sd it is a toss up of genetics / luck / careful breeding. I have brown and white aracaunas that lay green eggs. White Orpingtons and Wyandottes will lay brown eggs. The color of the egg is a result strictly of the breed and pretty much any breed can be bred to have any color feathers.

Egg colour is dependant on breed not colour of hen. Some white breeds lay brown eggs, some black breeds lay white, etc.
