I covet nearly everything in your clothing collection, even though I am a lot older and always keep my knees covered these days! You love your items, and it's so refreshing to see real pleasure in having such lovely pieces to wear, and for me, yours is a far more realistic wardrobe than those belonging to the many youtubers who embrace strict minimalism. I am also not a fan of 'hauls' and buying for the sake of it. You are on my wavelength - you think about things, enjoy your purchases and often find things pre-loved. My wardrobe also contains lots of jeans, jumpers and stripes - oh, and the same All Saints leather jacket!

The print on that Karen Walker dress is beautiful isn't it? Hi love, thx for bringing us along :). First of all you look great and if some pieces don't fit the same they will either do so after a bit more time passes (it's been only 7 weeks, plus you're nursing now) or you'll just replace them with some new ones. I don't like the shorts frankly, as for the dress, it does look a bit large so I personally would try it with a wide belt ( or use the tie to make a belt from the same fabric so it's not noticeable) but that's just a personal preference, i like the flowy fabric and the print. Xx
@mademoisellejaime4 жыл бұрын
So glad you enjoyed! Yes so very true. At the moment I have a bit of ab separation so my stomach isn't the same at all (hoping to organise physio eventually once social distancing relaxes a bit more) but even if it's changed once I've fully healed, that's totally fine too. We adapt! :D I decided to pass on the shorts in the end as things that pick up fluff end up not getting worn in our house due to having a ragdoll cat, and I'm still sitting on the dress. Think I'll wait until I'm no longer nursing as it's not quite practical right now haha xx

Thanks for continuing to produce such lovely content for us ☺️ Always a pleasure to watch. I’m always left thinking YES I WILL DECLUTTER MY CLOSET....and then I get sidetracked/paralysed within 30 minutes 😂 I’m moving out soon and should really cut down. I’m struggling a little to know how to balance my closet, as I now work 9-5 weekdays. My workplace doesn’t expect suits, but I also wouldn’t wear my work clothes outside of the office. Plus I’ve inherited a lot of work clothes from my aunt, and a friend is bringing me even more office clothes when she comes to visit. So realistically speaking, I should cull the work section too. Just not sure how many casual clothes I should have bs office wear... Also have tshirts I like the design off, but the fabric is growing stretched out (they’re meant to be close fitting). I can’t bear to throw them out, but I don’t feel as great in them anymore. Decisions!
@mademoisellejaime4 жыл бұрын
Haha it's a big job though - usually one of those things that will take the better part of the day. Finding that balance is hard, and I think the key thing is also that our "play" clothes are SO much more exciting than work clothes. At least that's how I always felt. Something I found useful was when I would add something to my closet, I would think about whether I would wear it both for work, and for the weekend. You may find you have a few pieces in your wardrobe that work for both already :) I hate when tees start to get a bit "old" looking. I have one that is SO pilled but I can't bear to part with it as I love the stripe pattern and haven't been able to find anything similar yet. You could always repurpose them as loungewear, especially if you still love the print? Something I do with our oldest tees that we aren't going to wear anymore is turn them into cleaning rags

Make sure you save anything that doesn’t fit because it is too small. It took me almost a year to get back to my size. It took 9 months to get there it could take about 9 to get back. Your chest especially will go down. Mine was the size I was before after nursing.
@mademoisellejaime4 жыл бұрын

Thank you Clara, so glad you enjoyed. Those trousers I bought in February last year from Topshop. It's a style they tend to revisit, but I don't think they're available right now. I know Zara did a very similar pair, and I've also seen similar ones from Stradivarius on ASOS. Same to you! xx

Love how you went through each piece here and how you shared your thoughts too. Being a neutral lover myself having a peek of your wardrobe, how you actually organized them and those classic staples (striped tops- I think of Audrey Hepburn there a lot ❤) is just fashion goals for me 😄 I am going through my 'undecided' clothing too just to rethink whether I would be able to revive the love I have for these pieces and at the same time wondered if I would make a youtube vlog about it. 😄 Off topic though, I'm just wondering, what are your top recommendations for a good sustainable fashion brand? I already had an Everlane phase but I am keen to try out other brands too. ❤ Also the shorts that you think was picking up a lot of fluff looks actually good! I don't know but in my opinion they flatter you well!

Thank you! It’s always hard with those pieces you aren’t sure about. I actually made a note this morning that I’d love to do a video on items I regret decluttering as there are a handful that I’ve come to miss over the years. That definitely would make a fun video! Umm so other brands would include Eileen Fisher, Bassike, L’Envers, Ace & Jig, Vetta, Nisolo, ABLE, just off the top of my head xx

I love that Karen walker dress even though it's oversized. It seems nice and flowy from the video and the patterns are so classy.
@mademoisellejaime4 жыл бұрын
It has a lovely flow to it, and is great for hot summer's days as the fabric doesn't cling to you (which was VERY appealing for Sydney summer, particularly while pregnant haha!). The print was really what drew me to it though :) I've popped it in the spare room to revisit later - it's not the kind of thing I can wear while nursing anyway :) Hope you're keeping well! x
@tammyc42364 жыл бұрын
Keep that flowy black dress! It's such an easy, yet interesting piece that I think you'll be able to find ways to style. I personally don't think you need to belt it, as it would restrict the intended movement and flow of the design, but you do you! Also, burn those Basic shorts. Haha, kidding, but those wouldn't look flattering on anyone (though I do understand your rationale for buying them). You look great, btw, and I'm glad you're not trying to pressure yourself to "get your body back" or any such nonsense. Enjoy your newborn, enjoy the beautiful clothes that fit you now, and don't rush into any decisions to get rid of the pieces you love but don't fit in yet. They will wait for you :)

It's really hard to know with items that aren't very practical right now while I'm nursing. Hi, Jamie. I really enjoyed your video. I recently found on the internet the Australian brand Gorman, do you know the brand? I'm curious about the quality of their products. Big hug!

Thank you! I do know Gorman, they're a great brand if you love prints, and I believe all the cotton they use is organic?I've found their items can be a little hit or miss. The poplin cotton pieces are amazing, and I recommend those. I did have one of their quilted jackets which I LOVED, but the interior stuffing kept poking through the fabric and every time I washed it, it looked more and more tatty. I also had a wool sweater which I hand washed and it was a disaster (it even said to hand wash it...) - I think it was a mohair and wool mix. My last purchase from the brand was probably 3-4 years ago though, but I hope that's helpful! x

Stopping mid-way- keep the black dress and the polka dot dress- they are both so cute on you! Different bras can make a world of difference in how the clothing fits, and since you are still only 7 weeks postpartum, the whole bustline situation may change.
