I'm so excited Natalya, can't even begin to explain. We got the first iteration of our floor plan last night and it is looking *really* good. Better than expected! We have to go through a more vigorous approval process with council so hopefully work will begin maybe in February? Who knows though - especially with waiting over Christmas. Same to you! Thank you Elaine - we are SO excited. We've approved our plans so next step is council approval. I'll be sharing lots along the way so will be a fun ride to go on together (except you'll get the experience minus all the dust and mess haha!!) xx

Thanks for providing a renovation update! My partner and I recently bought a semi in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. It seems architects and builders are really busy at the moment so it's been difficult to get in touch and book in initial consults - please continue to provide updates (as I know this also takes up a significant component of one's time)!

Congratulations on your purchase, that's so exciting! And you're welcome! I can't wait to share the journey. I was chatting to our neighbour and sounds like once we submit plans to council, it'll be around two months or so to get approval so hopefully doesn't take much longer than that, especially with Christmas coming up. Yeah we had one builder come and see the property and then just not bother to quote us. I get the feeling he didn't want to do the work TBH as it's a big job. The organisation we're using do a number of renovations and focus primarily on first floor additions, and they're very professional so we've been lucky in that sense to have come across them. Happy to share their details with you if you need. As an FYI they do charge an upfront fee for the quote but it's deducted from the overall cost if you go ahead with them as your builder of choice. Hope you;'re managing to have a bit more luck with your Reno journey. It's so satisfying when it finally all starts to come together x

Our second reno in this house (we had to do the bathroom when we bought it as it wasnt watertight 🤪) - very excited for work to begin. We’ve been talking about our plans for a couple years now so it’s going to be great to see our vision come to life ☺️
