Good lesson again. These studio clips are rather refreshing. 👍🏻 TQVM. I love pistachios too but they are costly here in SG. I believe the figurine shown at the beginning is a gnome, a mythical being in English folklore, unlike the non-fictional dwarf. Sharing what I've learned at school as a kid: Modifiers can be adjectives or nouns but are not known as such in compound nouns e.g. 'Black Angus', 'London cab' ... The distinction is important, as in 'beautiful parlour' and 'beauty parlour'. 🙂 Looking forward to your next lesson.

Trees could be standard, dwarf, or semi-dwarf. For my backyard, I bought 12 semi-dwarf fruit trees because they do not grow very tall. Semi-dwarf trees grow 10 to 12 feet somethnig between dwarf and standard trees. Thanks

Hello Mark! This is awesome explanation! My examples: No English teaching channel can dwarf Mad English Tv. While we were travelling the country side, the tall trees were dwarfing the smaller ones. The dwarf cow stood out in the herd.

Hi Mark! Have you ever been on tundra? I've been where and it's unforgettable! Particularly, I was impressed with a dwarf birch and other small plants. On the one hand, huge free spaces of tundra made me dwarfed part of nature on the other hand, I didn't feel dwarfing by these brichs. As always, thanks a million! 🤝

Hi , GUY !! , 😎😎😎 Happy Friday !!!, THANKS for those colorful balloons PROF !!..You make me laugh every nights 😎😎🥳.. Besides ,your STUDIO seems confortable , you're RELAXED ..,your VOICE sounds INCREDIBLE ...,and your SENSE OF HUMOR is fantastic !!!😄😄😄.... Well , interesting topic...,From my point of view , a person can be dwarf due to a family inheritance , but also ,it could be an hormonal issue..,this problem affects the normal BONE GROWTH...,Sometimes these people are discriminated ( and that's a problem!! )..😐 Some persons need therapy to deal with this issue... Lionel Messi has done a treatment , in Europe, to gain a few centimetres...( hopefully...he's one of the best football player , but it wasn't easy to him...) On the other hand, I don't agree that an adult human bellow the heigh of 147cm ,is considered a "dwarf "(sorry Google! )... I'm satisfied with my heigh ...I'm 156 cm , and I feel pretty good , It's no big deal ...! I agree with you ...We have to be CAREFUL, POLITE and RESPECTFUL, cuz' it's no good to offend people, at all ! This world would be better if there were NO discrimination ,of any kind !!!.....,In the end...,we should all have the same rights ! ,And RESPECT for others..,is the basis of a HEALTHY SOCIETY !!!🤗🤗 THANKS PROF for this episode ,and your way of teaching !!!😎 LOVE YOU GUY !!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Hi Mark It's a very sensitive topic you addressed. I remember in one of your previous videos, you have talked about this hot topic and you mentioned that in The USA, those people with red skin are called African Americans or in your country Canada for example they like to be called the first nation as they were living there before Caucasians Europeans invaded their lands and basically killed many of them. So that's why , knowledge is powerful as if we are not aware of all the evolving language we might offend people. So political correctness is key. I remember when you talked about two world leaders who are not politically correct at all Donald trump and Vladimir Putin. I just like to point out that those adjectives we use to describe people can be really offensive. Now did you know that Germans are called Boshs and to be honest I don't know why but I know for sure that they don't like it . I think that comes from their genius engineering there is a company that makes and designs appliances that's called Bosh. I am not sure I just guessed it. What do you think ? And for the Arab race, I have always heard the word bounyool and it's a derogatory word which means retarded people😮. As always it is an interesting and informative topic . Fatiha Switzerland
@MadEnglishTV5 күн бұрын
Hi Fatiha, I’ve never heard the word Bosh before, but I know it’s a company. The indigenous people in the US are called Native Americans, not African Americans. Political correctness is good, but it can be taken too far sometimes. In Canada the government is trying to force their ideas about morality on everyone and most people don’t like it. We will get a new government soon. 🙏

Hi, Frodo is a hobbit😁 Once I was fond of Lord of the rings; firstly I read the book (it was in 1996 or so) and much later watched the movie, and I want to say that the movie didn't dwarf the impressiveness of the book. Do you happen to know that dwarf people can have children with normal height and dwarf height doesn't affect their mental abilities? Thanks for this informative lesson🤗Take care!
