Nice and detailed review. Just to add some info : I just got a set of the Mads V2, and the Humming/whistling noise they make is pretty annoying to be honest. This noise happens at any speed, the fastest you go the more high pitched and audible it gets but it never disappear. It's not making noise like crazy, but it's still annoying to me. It's certainly due to the holes inside of them. I don't get any bad vibration so far though, just noise. I'm used to BOA wheels for street setup and they don't make any noise riding, grip quite well and don't chunk. In term of feel I slightly prefer the Mads over the BOAs, but that constant noise is killing the quiet rides that I like especially on nice roads. I've got also TB110s 74a and I've never liked them much despite all the good things I read about them. They really don't grip well at all compared to the BOAs or Mads, and I feel they bounce too much when in contact with rough roads. You should review the BOA wheels Ive got the old generation 83a, so I don't know how they compare to the new formula 76a or 74a

Thank you! It's interesting that the sound bothers you so much, honestly, on most of the boards, even at 30mph, I can barely even hear the sound over the belt or gear drives. I personally do not like Boa's at all. They're far too hard for my taste. You may really like the new Cloudwheel FE's, they have great comfort, but are completely silent. I have ridden the 100mm Boas in 76a, they feel pretty dang hard.

@@RBEMotion You're welcome. Further testing the MADS, the lack of free roll and (thus range killing) is the worst of all. Same exact run outside got me from 100% battery, to respectively 48% with the Mads, and I got 60% left on the BOAs (I swapped the wheels without touching the belt tension at all) . Same with my free rolling test : I'm cruising in an undergound parking with perfect surface at 10km/h and let go of the gas and check how far the board will go before stopping. The BOAs allowed me to roll more than 20m more than the Mads, which is a huge difference. So especially if you like to carve, this lack of free roll and range killing is quite bad on the MADs. The BOAs I used were the 83a from 2018. I'm getting the new 76a BOAs Yellow soon, so I'll see how good they are.

I have the verreal MAD wheels and I've ridden them for about 50 miles so far and in my experience, the wheels have a fairly severe vibration and create an annoying noise that is loud enough for others to hear when riding below 10mph. I'm guessing because I'm a heavier rider (200 -210 lbs). But once you pass 10 mph the vibration and noise almost completely disappear. Other than that these wheels are fantastic like described in the video, plenty of grip, lots of absorption (especially on rough sidewalks) and they don't eat up your range.

Thanks for the feedback and information! I do agree that once you pass 10mph, a lot of the vibration goes away. Other than that, yep, for these reasons, I consider them the best urethane wheel. Can't wait to compare them to the Hollow wheels!

Great video! Format and detailed analysis is great 👍. I have the Mad wheels and also the verreal mad wheels. Measured a couple wheels from each and measurements were consistent. Mad wheels: 101.8mm Verreal Mad wheels: 102.1mm I used a digital caliper (cheap 10 dollar one from Amazon)

Thank you, I work very hard on these! I know some people aren't as big of a fan of longer form content nowadays, but I personally value those kinds of videos, and seek to emulate that. Anyways - thanks for confirming the size! That's very helpful to know they barely wore down at all.

Please do a review on the Orangatang 105 Dad Bods!! Also side question, what are your thoughts on rubber tires vs urethane longboard wheels for electric longboard builds??
@RBEMotion2 жыл бұрын
Coming up soon ;) Typically, rubber tires offer more grip, and a lot of times more comfort, but at moderate range loss. For urethane, they're one of the smoothest rolling things you can put on your board. Very efficient, really feels skate-y. In addition, they're typically going to give you the most range possible.

Cool stuff. I'm a abec 107mm fan boy and would love to see how they match up against these wheels. Keep up the good work.

Thanks! I've actually never ridden a set of 107's before, but I have heard they are super prone to chunking.

Another wheel idea, can you try out the Eovan RS 105 Airless rubber wheels? Also great review!
@RBEMotion2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I have actually seen these wheels you speak of, they're the smaller brother of the RF125's in a slightly different style. They're on the list to try one day but I've got a backlog of wheels to finish reviewing first.

⚡ *A nice looong video on my joint favourite wheels* 👀🤙🏼⚡ Although named 105, funnily enough their actual diameter is 102mm when new. Love the rolled edges, great for rough ground. Love how much lighter these are from other wheels in this size range. Nice to see actual duro bein measured 👏🏼👏🏼 I hope you use that meter on bushings videos too! I didn't hear/feel the hummin but I've heard a few people do, or just felt normal. Another great review dude 🤙🏼🤙🏼

Perffffect haha thanks for leaving that info. I totally dunced and forgot to measure the initial diameter. Glad it was close to what I measured. Thanks for the comment!

Nice detailed review! What size belt are you using? I emailed Brian, and he said I "may" need a shorter belt than the 290 that I am currently using on my CLouds 120mm.
@RBEMotion2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The mounts I've got on my board are from Boardnamics, with idlers. My pulley setup is 15:40, and I ended up using 330mm. Your belt length requirement will be very different depending on your mounts and pulleys.

Any word on how these compare to the revel snugs? I think i might have made a mistake getting the snugs instead of these
@RBEMotion2 жыл бұрын
Hmmm - well I can tell you preliminary results show that the Snugs score a lower RBEM score. However, a lot of that difference is in range and durability. Personally, I'd say the Madwheels are better overall, but that the Revel ones have equal or greater grip. They're both great but expect a little less range from the Snugs and quicker wear.
@elago982 жыл бұрын
@@RBEMotion I'll be interested to see efficiency comparisons, as in my experience my board loses around a third of it's original range when going from 90mm wheels to the Snugs, a loss that I haven't felt with any other non-AT wheel.
@RBEMotion2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's because they're rubber. You'll find the madesk8 are more efficient overall. Once the full Snugs review comes out you can see the real number comparisons as well as the range guestimator

@@RBEMotion I'm dealing with Vic from Verreal regards wheels delaminating from core. I contacted Brian from Mad and he informed me that it has only happened to 4 out of 2600. My problem is Brian doesn't ship to Australia and Verreal won't do anything about it as they have no stock. He then told me that Madesk8 have gone bankrupt.Im willing to cut my loss but want to expose Verreal for the crooks that they are. Hence why I'm reaching out to the USA
@RBEMotion2 жыл бұрын
@@pauldooley823 Those are quite the wild set of statements haha I have no ties with Verreal, only talked to Madesk8. I highly doubt that they are bankrupt though as the wheels are selling quite well. They're even going to esk8con, so I think that the verreal guy may have been misinformed. Have you talked to Brian again?
@pauldooley8232 жыл бұрын
@@RBEMotion thanks for the information, I will contact Brian again and let him know what Verreal are saying. For the record I rate these as the best urethane wheels as far as grip goes. Thanks again for your information 🤙🛹

@@pauldooley823 Maybe they're just jealous of him and his superior marketing lol I agree with you, definitely the best grip urethane out there.
