Her some facts about Madison and this album: Madison is more of an alt-girl, like her influences are Lana, Tame Impala, Radiohead, Daft Punk! The messiness and the ups and downs of the album represent her having been diagnosed with BPD, like where one day ur good and the next day u could hit rock bottom, very up and down. Also this album was her way to tell her story, because she has been bullied and made fun of by the internet since she was 12, and scrutinized by the media as well. When making this album, she was very depressed and suicidal, so making this album helped her a lot like having a reason to get out of bed. That’s why she called it Life Support because it was literally her life support at that time. Hope this helps u understand the concept behind it better!☺️

Sadly I feel like she moved past this album so fast. it wasn’t given the reaction it deserved from mainstream radio and media. It Should have blown up.
@Luscent3 жыл бұрын
It isn't a super mainstream album sonically (maybe Boyshit could've been a big single) but I kinda like it that way it means she made what she wanted to make not just something that would be played a lot

Yeah. I wish life support era wasn’t over so quickly too but i understand why she wanted to move on. life support was supposed to be released in 2020 but it got delayed to release a whole year later.

Problem is she started this era in 2019 and this Album was supposed to come out more than a year ago it just doesn‘t represent her anymore :(

her label sucks. epic doesnt promote anything of hers properly and they dont trust her creative vision at all, shes talked ab how she had to fight to release selfish and reckless as singles and they just legit dont promo her. its really sad because she has so much potential to be huge

default is actually abt her anxiety and depression. when she says "you" shes referring to another parts of herself. also cool reaction i love how u describes everything perfectly.

Default is actually about herself and dealing with her depression and her BPD. The whole album is based on her side of relationships and her mental health, sour times for example is about getting taken advantage of when ur in a vulnerable mental state. She also said that the reason the songs go from sad and depressing tone to upbeat or bad ass is a hint at her BPD and she did it to show how much her mental illness can change her mood really easily. + she wrote this album when she was at the lowest point at her life, being suicidal, self harm, su!cide attempt, depression and anxiety (she talked about on Zach sang) she named it life support because this album was like a life saver for her and she said herself that without this album she would’ve really handled her situation even worse than it actually was.

Madison has been talking about her mental illness throughout the whole album and I'm so very proud of her the second track Defult she's talking about struggling to breathe and finding it difficult it could be talking about anxiety and having panic attacks and she suggests in default that the other person or partner she's talking too sets her back to default which is being drowned in anxiety and in a constant state of panicking, later on in effortlessly she painta picture of having a panic attack being unable to breathe being overwhelmed in this sea of emotions i think she's also suggesting that breathing should be effortless but she was struggling with it and she couldn't do it effortlessly she had to medicate it

You should know that the album she had finished before signing in a record company with her small team, When she was 16 years old brawn scooter (this demon) let her down .. she was alone , Si She décided to became an independent artist for several years, She prepared this album on her own with her small team without the support of a big record company ... She had this crazy idea to mix Daft Punk, radiohead, nirvana, Tame Impala and the 50s / 60s. And to add talk box and vocodeur At the beginning her team told her that she was crazy then finally they saw that it was brilliant ... She wrote and co-produced all the songs. Btw leroy her productor is a geni!!! Then a record company which offered her a contract unfortunately she accepted it ... They held her finish ( without any of their Help ) album in hostage for over a year and a half, He gives her no support and dont believe in her choices (they did not want selfish and reckless, which in the end are her greatest success ...) They refuses to promote her album and she is stuck with them for a long time ... I find it very sad .... We must not forget that she write the concept and co produces all the music videos too She did evrything .. everything comes out of her head she is incredible ... The album beyond being a breakup album is an album that represents her borderline disorder ... the fear of abandonment, hyper attachment and hyper sensitivity, the feeling of emptiness and the feeling of not being in our place ... in stay num for example it represents perfectly the moment of feeling Empty or we feel nothing ... effortlessy talks about bad psy, people who invalidate our pain and its aslo about self-harm « hurt me so i feel ... ».... default (my favorite) she speaks clearly to herself and her depression, she has the impression of letting herself go fall and she think she will cause her death .... the fact she is piscies can explain a lot too ahah ... 😭😭😭 I like That the album ends up with everything saying that finally she still loves him, her emotions throughout the breaking songs change .. its a really bordeline thing, dépréciation and valorisation of the person ... stained glass is about the terrible massive bullyng she endure since she is 12 .... im really proud of her this album saved her life .. she told ut she was close to be not here anymore and that she hurted herself everyday .... i know that at the moment she is really not doing well because of the hatred and the harassment but also of her record label who still dont support her... hope Her tout will make her feel better... but She is a beautiful soûl and an Amazing hard working girl 😩 i wish people can see it ...
