I have two carts- I use one for Monday-Friday, copies, etc. and the other for Free Choice options. I think two drawers have games, two have puzzles, coloring sheets, art supplies if they want to create something, flash cards, magazines and felt dramatic play. I switch stuff out every month and we use them mostly for indoor recess. By the way your library is wonderful! Big teacher hugs!

You got a lot done in just a few days! Having taught first and second grade for many (many!) years I have 2 observations you may want to consider: the cursive font you've used in your bulletin boards is not easy for 1st or 2nd grade students to read - especially your struggling readers. Also, if your plan is for your word wall to be interactive (word cards on a hook), then the cards need to be accessible to the students - currently many of your hooks are too high. Best of luck this year - I love teaching 2nd graders and I know you will, too!

I use my 10 drawer cart for Monday-Friday supplies/copies and small group activities. Since you already have spaces for those things, you could store monthly read alouds or extra student supplies! Your classroom is looking great!

Invest in a die cutting machine to do cut your letters. The circuit is the most popular,but I prefer my silhouette cameo. Say good buy to hours of cutting letters by hand

The o on the student work wall is upside down. The o should connect with the r not the w but everything in your classroom is awesome. I really like the affirmation mirror. Such a good idea!!!

I use my carts in the back of my desk for masks hand sanitizer Band-Aids and Books I will read for lesson I also have lesson plans in there that i TOTALLY reccomend!

My teacher uses a tin drawer cart for like scissors/pencil crayons/markers. She does have grade 8 students but it works just as good. She also keeps it by her desk so students don't really just take all of her stuff

Rather than stapling the calendar numbers every month try Velcro or hook&loop dots. I got mine at Walmart with sticky stuff on the back already. Quick to put together, no more holes, and bonus super easy to change every month. This also works well for classroom soduko and noggle.

Target spot has calendar pocket charts for like 3$ Hiiiighly recommend! Last year was my first year and I used sticky putty on the back of my numbers but even that was a hassle. Also remember you will need space for anchor charts so I would refrain from covering all bulletin boards with affirmation things. For instance in your library area where you said you might put a sign instead that would be the perfect spot for a anchor chart you and your class makes together explaining how to pick "just right" books. Just my thoughts as a 2nd year 2nd grade teacher.

teacher hack: if you put a strip of painters tape on the walls, you can then hot glue or tape the backs of the alphabet to the painters tape strip. It will last all year! It's how I hung stuff in my room last school year
