LOL, i mean thats just kind of how its always been with X-arcade for the past 20ish years.. actually this stick is a bit more streamlined than the other sticks they make. I think they want to keep everything they do compatible with their entire line from the past to current. Would be nice if they could make things a bit more elegant without all the cables, but I kind of get it I guess... There is another option.. but would require removing the X-Gaming board and swapping in brook universal fight boards and rewiring to that.. would probably make things more clean and less cables.. but would probably lose some of the features the stick has.

@@Mars_Army it looks worse than it has to be, they could have just one cable with a box and 2 USB cables attached that plugs into the device but they are using old stuff they have been producing for a long while in order to allow for additional compatibility, that box thing I showed had Original Xbox controller cables on it... So that should tell ya how old that adapter is.. maybe they could make a new version thats just for newer consoles and doesnt support old stuff to keep it less of an octopus looking mess.. I dont see why they couldnt.. i wont ever use the xbox cables so I may check and see if I could just remove them 🤷

And they are not even arcade quality components. Industrial Lorenzo (IL) is the way to go for American style arcade sticks. FYI IL is the company that manufactured HAPP sticks back in the day now HAPP are using lower quality Chinese clones of the original IL parts.

What a spaghetti bowl mess solution they hacked together.😅
@Madlittlepixel2 ай бұрын
Essentially they make sticks that work on PC, Linux, Mac etc.. then there are other solutions to use them on consoles 🤷 they been doing this for a long time, this is just one of their more expensive sticks. They have others like the Tank Stick which is on sale for like $160 right now with a code they have listed on their site, its essentially the same setup as this, just no pedestal and different construction and in my opinion better buttons. Uses adapters just the same, been around for a long time, but has been updated over the years. I do wish the adapter solutions were a bit nicer .. i mean the Brook adapter part is fine, but the 2in1 and the db9 adapter thing does get looking a bit messy for sure lol, but I mean if you can get past that it is really cool and any of their sticks are nice quality and built to last, especially those tank sticks they make.

I think adapters are the way. Allows for backward and forward compatibility. There's no need to reinvent the wheel when another company has already done the hard work. And I blame the console manufacturers for this. Xbox 360 allowed only licensed controllers to run on the console before PS360+ (and later Brook) got around their security. Then PS4 started doing time-outs for unlicensed controllers but Brook got around that too. So today, Brook is the only brand I trust to get around these pesky hardware lockouts. They have a proven track record and are always on top of things in case a console firmware update causes trouble with their adapters; Brook will release updated firmware for their adapters within days.

This feels like something with no true market. For 500$ + all of the adapters, you would save money by getting two high-end sticks, or even getting a custom built set-up.

500 dollar for a device that need so much adapters/thinkering just to work, is a big no for me. Big scam.
@Madlittlepixel2 ай бұрын
A scam? I mean it sucks that there are additional costs for adapters... But thats just how it is with most arcade sticks. I think people throw the word scam around when they just mean its not worth it to them .. which is fine, not everyone will see the value in something like this. But also I wouldnt call it tinkering when its just plugging in a USB adapter.. there are other similar setups that are around the same price or even more expensive that require the same thing, the same adapters from Brooks to use on other consoles. Kind of rare for a stick to be completely universal straight out the box.

Looks awesome. I have recently bought an old tankstick model from another seller for cheap and I'm modding it a bit to hide all of the cables coming out of the box by retracting/winding the cable and putting it inside the box instead of outside; and attaching both to a USB hub that I have sticked to the outside of the box so I only need to attach one USB cable. This makes for a much cleaner setup. And I hate the fact that we need to use adapters/dongles etc to make it work with various console so I'm using mine to work with Steam Deck, which is capable of emulating most machines anyway so I only need to use the USB connection and not spend more on adapters etc and less cable mess. Love the tankstick as it certainly feels the same as playing as traditional arcade control.

I think a lot of these pre-built arcade sticks are too expensive to catch my interest. For myself, I ended up building an arcade stick from a brooks board, components of my choice, and a wooden box. The build was fun, it works on the systems I want without an adapter, and it looks slick. A comparable arcade box to what is found in this video could be custom built for probably under half the cost.

For those who dont like the cabels and adapters you can always buy 2 8bit do acrcade sticks, hori mini or the Power fusion which i have. Easily modded and above all, compatible and wireless.❤ With that said, i do like the white/red vibe it has going on and the fact is an actual dual stick compared to 2 seperate sticks. It gives it more of an arcade feel, which i can appreciate. Thanks again for sharing 👏

@VOAN2 ай бұрын
Why I would never buy this thing: too bulky, price is too expensive, too many wires and adapter to deal with, all the stuff this thing need doesn't come with the accessory. Should had just been plug and play like every other controller, you plug in two USB wires to it and then it works or you plug in two usb adapters to it and it works. With this you had the complication of using adapters going into another adapter going into another adapter going into USB wires going to the Switch which is too complicated.
