​@@MadLuigi really? ok fine, Orius kills you in his ending and then proceeds to genocide the opposition, almost every one of his clerics are corrupt and evil and his church is full of lies, i'm not saying Adyr is a angel but he is the only ending that doesn't try to kill you, most of the information we get from his is vague or comes from the very judges who betrayed him to begin with, yes he creates monsters but they were made to stop a insane judge from experimenting on humans, they are a reflection of humanity, and they weren't there in his original rule, you might think he is evil but if you think about the situation he is in he has been banished for god knows who long while insane people experiment on humans souls and are now using a dangerous type of magic that could cause the end of the world by allowing a eldritch abomination into the world of the living, if you pay attention at both the first game and the second game endings where you side with Adyr neither of then explicitly says he is going to genocide the opposition, much like in a souls game you cant just take everything you hear at face value, remember in the first days of dark souls people thought gwyn was a self sacrificing good god and the flame ending was good,

I don’t see why people hate in this game I guess because they want to compare it so bad with elden ring. Yeah the combat can be a bit weird but I like that it’s different. If they planed on making a Lords of the Fallen 2 but made this reboot instead I hope we will see a dlc and possibly a new game most likely a dlc.

That's assuming he even exists. None of the items actually say he exists and just talk about his followers. More importantly, Orius did not exist in the first game. For all we know, he might be an artificial construct.

I find it interesting that these three endings are all about blindly following one of the gods and how that goes poorly for humanity. What do you want to bet the DLC opens up a "no gods, no masters" kind of route where we reject them all and create a world where humans are free from divine meddling?

Basically become the ruler instead. Sorta like the saying “want something done right do it yourself.”. I would like a ending like that but also have good outcomes with all npc and convincing them to follow you because most ending you have to follow one and ditch the other npc.

In this universe that's probably impossible, since Adyr himself has a lot of control over the world as its creator. He's only kept away by the beacons, and even they aren't perfect because of how they were made. Even if you went with a "no gods no masters" approach, you cannot kill the Putrid Mother, and without an opposing force she'd just swallow the world anyway.

There's also a chance he's made up, the only time he's ever mentioned directly is in the Radiance ending and otherwise every description talks about what his followers do/believe in. Sophesia (the Queen) even states directly that he's fictional. Edit: this is also a spoiler, but the Radiant beacons that keep Adyr away were actually made using Adyr's power (they used his rune to make them) so there's a chance all Radiant magic is just a corrupted version of Rhogar magic, which in turn would mean that Orius is just a different form of Adyr.

While all of them are bad, it's stated in the game multiple times how the hallowed sentinels were specifically stated to be especially fanatical, eventually focusing more and more on blood and purification than any other Orian sect. Add in that Mournhold is filled with Rhogar and Umbral monsters, most everyone is insane and irrevocably corrupted and you can't fully blame Orius for unleashing his Radiance.

I feel like there needs to be a fourth ending. Like, there is something wrong here. The first game's canonical ending is the one where Harkyn sides with none of the gods. He even tells you that that's what you should do in this game. It's really weird that you can't refuse all three entities and shoot for a balance between them.

It’s like the defiled ending in elden ring. So by ending all influence you get a free world. Is it a better one? I mean it’s not hard to beat a worldwide crusade or empty world because everyone’s sinned, a world led by adyr the demon, and again world being consumed. A faithless world is scary but I thought it was fitting.

@@Aetrion You can't do that because that leaves the world at the mercy of Orius' followers, or the spreading Umbral. The world is in a fragile state where you CANNOT try to restore the status quo, because regardless of what you do, one side will gain supremacy.

The real problem for the people of Axiom is, that even with the Radiant ending, the Putrid Mother devours Adyr through the Umral Lamp. So I wonder, how powerfull it becomes after it, and it begs the question if the Infernal ending may still be the good ending?! I mean, despite the war between Orius and Adyr is at the corner, and hundreds of thousands will suffer and die, it is still not the end, and there still might be hope - and the very least the Putrid Mother will not be even more powerfull Because of this, I think the devs might see the Radiance AND/OR the Umbral ending as canon - and if this game gets a sequel, then I think that will already be a battle between a rather cornered Orius and the ever hungry and empowered Putrid Mother, while you might be tempted to "reconstruct" Adyr in some way - which also might weaken the Putrid Mother And this way you might restore a somewhat natural order On the other hand, if the Infernal ending is canon, and LotF gets a sequel, then it basically back to the original square one, and the sequel is again a battle of 3 parties, where the next hero might be the one, who desides, which "god" falls next, so the other 2 can tear each other and the world apart... Either way, everything the hero does in this game, was futile to begin with, which would again prove this games story as that of a perfect SoulsLike There is no Happy End - only more fighting, After falling, stand up and keep going...

Can you do a lore video on King Bramis? His story seems soo tragic with the betrothal of the woman of less nobility and having a child and then eventually being taken by Adyr. His story seems very fragmented and I wish there was a more concrete lore on him.

Apparently she either threw her lot in with Adyr for the sake of her family, or she went to him after being persecuted by the Hallowed Sentinels, or both since there was a Rhogar sickness ravaging the kingdom thanks to how the beacons were originally made.

I don't know, I feel like Adyr is morally better than Orius. Oruis instantly kills anyone who he deems tainted or a heretic. If Adyr had the same approach when he first ruled, no one would have been alive to overthrow him in the first place, and unlike Oruis who sees us tainted and kill us as a reward, Adyr makes us pretty much his right hand. And Adyr's rage is directed toward the judges and the orian radiance chuch, not all humanity since he think they're misguided...

@CalebDekker It should be noted that Adyr's main mistake as a god is that he didn't teach humanity jack shit as its shepherd, so when he gave the 3 Judges divinity to allow humanity to self-rule, they did human things which shocked him (basically Adyr was the shocked pikachu meme face). In the 2014 LoTF, we see that the judges were pretty evil as the final boss is one of the judges and Adyr was trying to stop said specific judge, not destroy humanity. So in a lot of ways he's the polar opposite of Orius: Adyr is a lax ruler who doesn't understand his own followers which let them oust his ass while Orius is a super strict ruler who perfectly understands human nature and how to exploit it.

I disagree with Ady's ending being worse. In the first game Adyr left most of the affairs of humanity to humans, which he gave his power, and that's how you have the judges (they are the three he trusted enough to give divine power to). He also is honest in everything he says to you that you can double-check, and in the first game you learn that Adyr is pretty decent to his Rhogar, which in some cases are reincarnated humans who worshipped him (one quest even involves reuniting a woman with her dead family). We also don't see him go on a murder spree, unlike with Orius' ending. Also, one of Adyr's spells states that more than anything, more than revenge, what Adyr wanted the most was to come home. Also you got two things wrong: we do know how the Lightreaper got his parasite: Adyr used the parasite to make him, and it gave him a desire to go after lamp-bearers (his spell you buy from Molhu directly says this). We also do see the Putrid Mother, she's the eye inside the mouth. You also got the boy wrong, the Putrid Child is the one who will bring about the emergence of the Putrid Mother, the boy in the mines is the sacrifice to keep her away.

Right!!! Like as um playing the game...What I'm finding out is that when Adyr was sealed and before that, the Hallowed Sentinels and Dark Crusaders carried out outright genocides and religious persecutions. The judge clerics, especially Izel, only betrayed Adyr for the power of radiance. Adyr coming back with anger is justified. He was betrayed by power-hungry knights that slaughtered countless ppl. Afterwards, the new God they wroship only grants his judges power, the one person he gives absolute power to, Pieta, is scolded for helping the sick and powerless. What does orius do in response? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

It's funny, because the game was warning us from the get that our use of the lamp at least implied our doom. It is all but confirmed with Paladin Isaac's last Stigma, when he confronts Dunmire about the loss of his soul. His response? "What do you think we're about, this is literally part of the JD my brother in Orius" It's such a fascinating concept that there exists an entire sect in the Orian Church that is willing, and doomed, to be destroyed in order for Radiance to rule. As a Christian with Calvinist beliefs, it speaks a lot to me about the concept of predestination, and how these followers understand that Orius is undoubtedly THE good force in that world, and regardless of the promise of a heavenly reward or no, what matters is that you act with morality. I'm not saying Orian Radiance and Christianity are the same, if anything the OR just gleans the catholic aesthetics of it and really not much else. Pieta, and the Hallowed Sentinels, as described in their scripture item, were more tolerant, nuanced, and an actual faith, as opposed to later calls for fanaticism and billions must die yada yada. I'll blame that on Adyr's influence. Now this being a AAA game, I don't really expect that kind of nuance, and a lot of my own ideas are just that. They're probably just going for the long dead turned to glue horse of "religion bad at this moment i am feeling euphoric" and everything else is mere coincidence. Call it cynical but I've seen it happen too much nowadays. Also the endings thrust upon you the age old question of whether it is better to serve in heaven or rule in hell, and it's interesting to see how many people I know that were dead set on being OR paladins reconsider their path in this game with the ending.

I’m glad you are a Christian as I am myself! I have the opposite view of salvation in that of it being a choice, which God instilled into man with free will and the ability to make decisions on their own outside of his control. Not saying that God can’t have full control over all things, but he allows man to choose to love him and be rewarded for their service or to be subject to his wrath in hell. What kind of love would it be if you just forced your family or spouse to love you rather than them loving you out of their own independence? Knowing the only reason they loved you is because you just force them too. Anyways I’m not going to write a whole thing on it and possibly not get a response but if you’d like to have a friendly discussion on some things like predestination which I believe Calvin got very mixed up on then I’d be happy to do that. Again not having malicious intent, just know that what I believe is true and you claim to be a brother in Christ so I want to help steer you to sound doctrine so the Bible and God make more sense to us. Also to be more clear, I do believe eternal security where once a man accepts the gospel that are saved and sealed and cannot lose their place in heaven. Very well thought out and nuanced and I love that you were able to glean implications from the game concepts and compare them to real implications for people regarding Christianity. One thing to add, I found it provoking that, as the Hallowed Sentinels lost their minds and their way, the state didn't fall too far behind. I doubt it was an intentional parallel, but it lines up with observations IRL. Even though your character dies in the radient ending.....has anyone thought that maybe that was the gift to your character? A final death instead of constantly having to die over and over again? You as the dark crusader were dead from the beginning and the umbrel lamp brings you back after issac tosses the lamp and it falls in a hole. Your character was specifically chosen by the lamp and with free will you had the choice to do the work of "god". Look at the rememberence of adyr.....it says "all he wanted was to go home". Adyr being symbolic of Satan while in theory and possibly telling you many truths could be in all actuality just half truths in order to sway you into choosing power selfishly by allowing you to become a lord. Remember, just because you do the right thing doesn't mean you get the outcome you expect or want and that's life in general. All of the corrupted orius followers fell based on corruption and were left behind to wonder in torment until the champion of "god" could eradicate them. Judge clerics fate was horrible after you defeat her....laying in complete misery in which could be looked at worse than death. Pieta was given rebirth because her soul wasn't fully damned.

Others have mentioned a DLC but it kind of gives me an idea. If we were to ever get a DLC for this game I'd want it to add a new ending to it. Preferably one where you fight all of the different gods in succession. A reworked boss fight against Adyr, and new boss fights against orious and the Putrid Mother. Just think of the boss weapons you could make!

While that would be neat, there isn't a narrative way that would make sense. Orius might not exist while the Putrid Mother is the end of all things. There isn't a way to combat her since she's basically her own universe.

I traveled all around and explored every nook and cranny. Even entering the realm of the great mother in the depths of the mines. I still went with the radiance ending because the others just looked even more F'd up. I guess I was kinda right. This is definitely more of a horror game.

Radiant Ending is the best from an altruistic standpoint, since all the sinners will be turned into dust, and the good people remaining will thrive. No more corruption no more inquisition, so it will be fine. With Adyr, it will be more of the same: a tough world where only the strongest will survive. And with Umbral... well... it's just a bug. It doesn't have feelings and only wants to eat. I don't understand why some people worship it.

The main thing to consider with the Radiant ending though is what constitutes "good" people and "sinners". Depending on how Orius defines "sinners", there might not be any humanity left once he's done purging it of heretics.

Radience ending is best. It makes perfect sense to want to be rid of all sin and corruption in the world that's how it should be that's why even our LB got destroyed in the end because the dark crusaders are technically heretics. That doesn't make orius evil lol it makes him pure and righteous. Everyone in lotf is either corrupt in some form or is following a different religion apart from orius which is heresy in his eyes. I enjoyed the game more than I thought I would, but I didn't bother paying much attention to the lore, and given that I cleansed a beacon before I saw there's alternative endings, I did Radiance anyway. This vid was great in shedding more light on the whole thing. Figured the Iron Wayfarer was Harkyn as it was in an item lore, but I never would have guessed he's the protagonist of the previous game.

I'm kinda fascinated how they managed to repurpose the lore of the original Lords of the Fallen game and even paying homage to it in several aspects: - the Judges are still a thing as the final boss of the original game was in fact a Judge: Antanas. Knowing this, it's safe to assume that Orius is probably just as much of a monstrosity as Antanas was since the Judges are using Adyr's powers to maintain a demigod status. False light so to speak. - Adyr has been invading the monastery that Antanas was residing in with all of his Rohgar lords and if you remember these ugly beasts, you can tell what will become of the protagonist of this game. - Harkyn managed to survive for over a thousand years, probably due to the Rohgar Lord essences that he absorbed. Adyr even claims that he became a Rohgar himself by defeating them so yeah, that's probably what made im basically immortal (and uglier) - They even kept Adyr's hand in the game, which is this gigantic hand shaped mountain ridge.

I like the Umbral/Putrid mother ending but it's a bit of a pain to get, which is funny because it's so similar to the Frenzied flame ending in Elden Ring, which is one of the easier endings to get.

Quick summary Radiant/Infernal: NOW ALL THOSE IN THE WORLD THAT HAVE GONE AGAINST ME WILL DIE! Umbral: Hehehe what world? I feel like there should be a dlc ending that has you adventuring into the different realm that aren't really accessible on the base game. You go into the Raident domain to get a object that aspires order and purity in ones actions, you go into the infernal realm and get a item that binds savagery and raw brutality from being betrayed and finally you absorb the umbral lamb to permeantly fuse with the void,making it impossible to return to the normal realm and grasp with the maddening abyss of hunger and nothingness of wanting to be whole,but never being able to achieve that. Combining all of these items will destory you,but will form a protective shell around the normal realm that keeps outter influences from reaching it. Magic ia heavily reduced or gone completely,but humans are left with true freedom and being influenced by a greater being that demands everything. Depending on how many people you save, a secret ending where you are revived as a harbinger of peace and freedom. You aren't alive to influence humans as you walk amoung them... but you're there to help guide people who are lost and downtrodden,those who never got a chance to make their own choices.

Honestly adyr is the way to go. No way to even know orius is real and its basically a genocide to do radiance. And umbral is basically wiping out all life. Adyr is pretty much the only good guy

We were dead to begin with, resurrected by the lamp at the start. We become a martyr in Orious name and purefy the world to then leave some space for those pure. Sounds like a very drastical ending but it's better then the other 2.

Gotta comment on smaller creator's videos. I rly liked the game up until I killed the cleric, then it was just a slog, with the same enemies and also I got super strong, one try taking bosses with my dual heavy weapon radiance. Still, fourth best soulslike imo, after elden ring, lies of p and dark souls 3. Dark souls obviously holds a special place in my heart but it came out so long ago it got surpassed finally. Quando eu cheguei no fim do jogo, e percebi que o boss final seria naquele anti climax, eu achei narrativamente foda e muito bem construído. Eu fiz o final Radiante e achei fantástico como Adyr coloca a perspectiva de que ele na verdade não é um vilão. E meio que você compra a ideia, mas cumpre seu dever mesmo assim. Fantástico. Genuinely think the infernal ending is the good ending. Adyr not only lets you live but makes you a lord. In every other wnding your reward is death. In the radiance ending orius smites everyone who goes against im and in the unbral everything is consumed. The infernal ending is just Adyr getting his get backs. He was betrayed and just wants to punish those who helped imprison him. Both in the radiance ending and the infernal ending it is hinted that he was betrayed, so i dont think he is lying. Plus look at orius followers all of them are corrupt. If adyr is the creator of humanity then the infernal ending is basically the father punishing the child for their misdeeds. He is the only one who is being truthful or at least revealing the truth to the player, not to mention giving them a chance to be something more than a puppet, as it is the players choice to ignite the beacons or not. History is told by the victors and i think the way that adyrs boss fight is just a speech , really highlights the fact that what he is saying is true. This is all up for interpretation so this is mine. Also i mean who wants to go through all that to only die at the end lol. Id rather be alive as a lord then death as a reward for doing something gods themselves can't do.😂

From his ending, I kind of get the feeling that Adyr was a good god before, letting humanity be themselves... Until Orius corrupted the girl that become the Judge Cleric and started corrupting humanity with his religion that he claimed is "Radiant"... And Adyr had no choice to create powerful soldiers to fight for him. Yeah, things got dark and he ended up doing bad things... But clearly Orius is too overtly righteous to be the actual "good god". Orius sounds like he believes humanity would be better under his rules and only his rules. And anyone outside the those rules can be tortured and killed... And his ending proves that... While Adyr's ending still has him on a revenge run... But the guy has been betrayed and sealed for a thousand years. He's got issues. The Umbral ending is the only one I don't really understand, or how it fits with this world.

Start a new game or new game plus honestly. Once you cleanse a beacon, it locks you out of the other two endings for good on that specific run.

So Adyr rewards you with a loli (him/herself) plus a high ranking status next to him/her, with a God calling you his/her Lord, a sign of submission and adoration to you. Seems to me like Adyr is the best option.

Not submission. Lords are a title under kings, in addition to a general title of respect given to kings as well. In the original game, the Lords were basically his generals. Still ranking under Adyr. The Rhogar Lords were the titular Lords of the Fallen.

the beginning of the game up until after the first boss and the end are kind of low quality/trash. But the rest of the game, OH MA GA! Best souls like I've played ever! It is #3 in my top after #1 Dark souls 1 and #2 Elden ring. #4 is Dark souls 3. I really hope they make a dlc for this game.

I still say its just the typical DS endings. However with the Radiance being a bit more hopeful than the light the flame ending. Since those beams could be taking out corruption or everyone depending on what the player decides. Unlike DS where you know what happens as a result of restarting the cycle due to DS3. But thats obviously due to sequels.

So result of 800 years: we simply exchange one tyranical god (Adyr pre-rebelion) to the other (Orius). I wont be surprised if after few thousand years history will repeat itself and some heroes will rebel against Orius and imprison the deity. Plus feeding Adyr to putrid mother using umbral lamp will lead to questionable consequences like impending doom of umbral invasion.

How's it the typical DS endings? Adyr is the only deity in the setting shown to create life, without him there aren't going to be any more Rhogar invasions since they use his power, while Orius' followers gain total supremacy. Those blasts of light do not "take out corruption" at all, unless you include "murdering everyone" in that definition. On the flip side, the world needed the three judges to beat Adyr, without them, he'll gain supremacy and begin an inevitable conquest of the world. As for the Putrid Mother, in her ending all life in Axiom dies, all of it. So which DS game had endings like these?

This sucks. Why would you have a game with 3 endings, and all of them doom the world to terror or destruction. At least give us one ending where everything does not turn to S%^t. It means the story in the game should really be ignored if you are playing it, as you are not working towards anything except a trophy. If you pay attention to the story then it makes the whole thing pointless, as the world is screwed either way. At least some of the Elden rings endings give us hope that all is not lost e.g. the stars ending. And as you do Rannis questline you can see her affection grow for you. it is subtle but def there.
