Nevertheless, there are only a couple of big awards and not everyone can win those, leaving a lot of madly talented actors empty-handed.
Today, let's dig into several unforunately cases where an actor totally have both award-worthy skills and fame, but failed to win at big awards ceremonies.

Lee Joong Gi should of won for Flower of Evil in my opinion. He was able to make me feel much emotion and different types in little amount of seconds. Yes! Please do one for the actress as well? I am quite curious about that. 👍😆

Lee Joong Gi is an incredible actor, and Flower of Evil would have been an entirely different show without him. He definitely should have won for Flower of Evil. Amazing performance!

I've thought this same thing too myself was a great job he did in that. They are the best as I say. I love all of big small little short or tall no matter I love them all. And the older ones I love just as much they've still got it too. Got in trouble once for saying this about an actor stopped watching him but I said what the heck I watch him and dearly love him as a fan. Am not in anyway trying to be disrespectful. People were saying he's old not handsome well yes he is .only wanted to.encourage him. Don't care who I offend he's a stellar actor one other of an old fans highly favored ones too. Always will be. What's wrong with that ?

Lee Dong Wook should've won or at least been nominated for Strangers from Hell/Hell is other people. All of his performances are captivating, but his performance as Seo Moon Jo was phenomenal!

Namgoong Min not winning has been robbery. Ji Sung as well. I understand why Song Joong Ki lost, because Shin Hakyun in Beyond Evil was simply out of this world. Lee Junki is also an amazing actor. Same case as Joong Ki, Shin Hakyun was simply insanely good in Beyond Evil. Kim Nam Gil didn't win in 2022...that's tragedy. I am shocked.

@@tiredbylife.5589 Baeksang Arts and Korean PD Awards preferred Lee Junho performance. He was chosen Best Actor in these major awards over Kim Namgil. Even the final scoring at the Baeksang; Lee Junho -4, Lee Jungjae-2 and Kim Namgil-1 The are all great actors and gave their Best Performance but Lee Junho’s performance was simply the Best. But I respect your preference.

I can't believe that these actors haven't been nominated for major roles...it seems unreal to me...especially Joongi and Jisung that were two of the first faces that I've seen when I started to watch kdramas back in 2010 with Iljimae and Kim Soo Ro, I've been a fan of their acting since then...they are so good at acting, I've always been mesmerized about how good they are, they act even with their eyes

I've seen enough dramas of Namgoong Min to say that his acting is no joke. I don't think I've seen him play a role that did not suit him. He nailed them all. And that is why I always say I'll watch anything that he acts in.

OMG, his complex portrayal in Awaken was soooo good. I never expected him to be THAT. I would want to see him portray a honeypot in one of his future roles. That would be fun because he's always got this intensity to him that's usually quiet (or mad bonkers) but outright "sexy" and seductive (think Ji Sung in Devil Judge), not yet.

All great actors... I agree completely! IMO, Lee Joon-Gi should receive a special award for all the roles that he's portrayed to date. His uncompromising approach to excellence in his craft is something that few actors exhibit in their careers. Whether it's a lead role, or merely a cameo (such as in Hotel Del Luna), he gives it all. His versatility is superb, as well. In fact, I'd say that overall, Korean actors demonstrate a much higher level of versatility than American actors, who tend not to act anymore... but rather just portray themselves. Conversely, Korean actors are capable of much more range. That could be cultural, or it may come down to training. In any case, Joon-Gi is a cut above the rest. He's what I would consider among the elite actors.

Ah Ji Sung, Ji Sung 😍. My favorite actor between the the other splendid ones. His acting is out of this world and his looks are to die for. But he won a Deasang for his role in Kill me, Heal me. I always understood that a Deasang is also a 'big' award?

I am a huge ji sung fan after accidentally watching the devil judge, now I have watched everything he is in and wonder where was he hiding all this time...I had watched so many kdramas and kactors (not naming any) before devil judge and realised none of the actors had that much charisma, screen presence, acting skills (he can literally act with his eyes and voice), the wide array of roles he chooses is just amazing...I don't watch kdramas unless ji sung is in it or sometimes namgoong min...I dont think actors of his calibre need awards to validate their talent

I won't say they were ignored. They were brilliant but they lost to someone more brilliant than them. I mean none of these actors lost Baeksang to any inferior actors/acting. All the winners were absolutely brilliant too.

Hot Stove League, believe or not, was my first k-drama I watched during a leg breaking recovery. I was shocked how charismatic was Namgoong Min and even more when I saw him so chill in Chief Kim. My favourite k-actor with Kim Hye-eun

I noticed that these actors (if im not mistaken) didnt debut massively and often typecasted and also they were all famous for their second lead character.. I cannot say for other, but Jung Hae In has a chance, he just started his career as a lead and become more and more popular and im sure he will have a great breakthrough performance which will bring him a grand awards.. And btw i can say that in 2016, Six Flying Dragon really deserve every awards even though it was a crowded year!

First of all- blue dragon and grand bell are movie awards. however the works reviewed here are dramas. so that leaves only Baeksangs with the broadcast station awards. Already it's a small list. anyway, I see that following this year's Baeksang an intense conversation has been kicked off on the nomination choices and oversights. I don't want to see this discussion to die down leading upto next year's ceremony. It's time the jury know what the audience feels. Looking at the list in this video- I still stand by talent and versatility over awards anyday. Award is a major boost but not everything. yes, please make a similar actress list too.

One thing that was lacking in their performances was 100% sincerity , genuineness and full immersion. Baeksang looks for performance where actors fully and 100% became the character not 85% nor 98%.

I think I’m one of the few people who think SJK’s non-nominated roles such as Innocent Man/Nice Guy and Arthdal Chronicles are the roles of his that deserve to be nominated more than DOTS or Vincenzo. Don’t get me wrong, he’s good in the latter two shows but it’s quite weird to me how he was nominated for the latter two but the first two I mentioned are where I think he gave better acting. Especially Arthdal, I was really disappointed he got nothing for it (personally think his best acting is here). Also, Yoo Ah In is fully deserving of his Baeksang in 2016, I watched the drama and his performance was really good

Have you watched Bloody Red? There's Lee Joon & Jang Hyuk, thus, competition will be intense again for Baeksang. Also, there are many upcoming dramas w/ stellar cast. Shin Sungrok of Doctor Lawyer is doing fantastic.

2 reasons these guys tend to win based on what I've observed: 1. Stiff competition - there are so many good kdrama actors these days that bad actors stick out like sore thumbs 2. There may also be some inherent bias toward actors who have a strong film or theater background. Notice how most of the guys on this list are mostly hallyu stars and work mostly on TV? I've pulled up the list of Baeksang winners and maybe 70 percent of these are Chungmuro actors: Yoo Ah In, Cho Seung Woo, Shin Ha Kyun, Gong Yoo, Kang Ha Neul, Jo In Sung, Lee Byung Hun...

There must be separate categories for villain and lead actor. yoo ah in is lead not villain he must be contested in best lead category.nam could've win if awards are categorized fairy. Yoo ah in deserves but in lead category. Also same goes for ji sung shouldve won as lead actor while miseang actor should get in supporting roles.no regrets on lee junho but jung haein is versatile in his roles and his preparation is no joke too. Wow. I actually thought this list would have more unknown/underrated actors but not only do I know all of these actors, all of them are great actors and have done amazing dramas/movies. It's a pity they have lost, but they have been up against some brilliant actors when nominated. It just goes to show though that an award isn't a reflection of how great you are. Yoo Ah In is a model-turned actor. He a good actor -- a versatile actor. He won Best Actor for the historical drama Six Flying Dragon.

Yoo Ah In is known for portraying diverse spectrum of roles. He breathes life to the character as in its hard to recognize him in each of his movies or dramas because he is completely transformed to the character he's portaying. the baeksangs need to create more categories and separate the genres,you cant have 1 award category for best actor and actress and nominate artists from different genres ,its unfair and criminal .
