But I really do not socialize anymore after that. I found out the worse of humanity. I have no need to be social with anybody anymore. It is not like I will win a prize for being social again. This movie had so much more meaning than love, it showed the true meaning of forgiveness and redemption. That’s why I’m amazed and surprised that a simple animated, not even that good of a plot, all in all cringy and childish movie (“Boss Baby”) was considered “better” than this and got nominated in the Oscars. I wish reality was like this movie. It is, unfortunately, exactly the opposite. People are hateful beyond measure. I am so glad I am no longer in secondary school. The thing is, adulthood is just about the same. I gave up trying to find a friend a long time ago. I do not need to be victimized again.
@Dhirallin3 жыл бұрын
It looks like they put in two characters with completely opposing ideologies. Naoka is like the exact opposite of Shouko. Naoka believes that being strong is about offloading responsibility and blame for the things that happen to her completely onto other mostly innocent people, and finds the idea of blaming herself weak and very confronting. Whereas Shouko always takes full responsibility and blames herself for everything that happens to her even when it's not her fault. They're both somewhat extreme characters.

Life was as usual, I did my chores, my schoolwork, and played videogames afterwards. I had no concrete plans in life and just went with the flow. I had a bit of an interest in anime after discovering Ghibli and I came across Silent Voice. The movie just had this familiar feeling. Over the years of viewing violence and other bad influences my heart was basically hardened and my senses became dull. this movie softened me and made me appreciate my life. I wasn't depressed or having suicidal thoughts, I just didn't care about anything. I felt content as long I could procrastinate. In a way, the people in this movie are the ones I look up to the most, even if they're not real and it's just a movie. To me, it was more than just some movie, and it was something that I will cherish forever. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. When I finished the movie I made a decision: whether I'd stay put and do the same thing forever or live the life the characters had and cultivated. I chose to make a change in search of happiness. I felt quite sad after finishing the movie, I forced myself to study afterwards and be as responsible as I can. Yes, it didn't feel the way things did in the movie and it was outside of my comfort zone but I knew this is what's going to help me change. I stopped playing videogames completely because I couldn't control myself otherwise and tried to be strict on myself. In a few days, I decided to study Japanese, I figured if I lived in Japan, I would feel close to the life I wanted. It was the first big decision I made and the first time I took initiative in my own life. I discovered Kyoto Animations and their other works like K-On, and Violet Evergarden, up until now I play an Electric Guitar aspire to be like Violet; strong and diligent. It was the happiest time of my life after I discovered Silent Voice and I've changed a lot since. I usually would go against talking about this openly but I want people to come across this comment and know that they really can make a big change if they start now. I know very well that it's not easy at the beginning but use the people in the movie as an example and live your life to its fullest, whatever that means for you. I myself am having trouble, it's almost been a year since I saw the movie and I reverted back to square one unfortunately. I haven't studied Japanese in a few months and I'm feeling gloomier as time goes on, but I sure as heck am not giving up. Nonetheless, I just wanted to share my experience with this movie and with KyoAni's works in general, because their works are ones that can change your life, Silent Voice is a good example. Sorry if this was lengthy, I did my utmost to describe my experience without writing too much. Thanks and take care.

For me it wasn't the saddest, but the most hopeful thing I've eber seen in my life (and I will agree with Sandy S. that "Grave of the fireflies" is the saddest movie, too). It made me cry so much, especially the ending, it felt like...Waking up from a bad dream that lasted all life long and seeing that the world is beautiful and new and has so much to offer. Of course many of the things that happen in this movie are sad, but especially since I could relate to many things the characters are going through, the main thing that stayed with me was a feeling of hope and the promise that happiness will come, if you're willing to listen.
@B4thest0rm4 жыл бұрын
@@yasao_art I started crying 10 minutes after the movie started, and I couldn't stop crying for about an hour after it ended. I don't think I'm able to watch it again because it was not only one of the most beautiful anime I've ever seen but also a haunting one... I've never fallen in love with a film as much as I did with "A Silent Voice". Just hearing and seeing it again makes my heart ache with so many emotions, and all of them compel me to remember how important it is to try and understand others, even if it may seem intimidating and frustrating at first. Loving yourself and loving others is so important, and I feel like that can never be emphasized enough unless we let it, and that's what this simple but beautiful film helped me to do. Words cannot describe how much it has changed my life nor do they do it justice. So please, if you haven't seen it already, go do so now; just watch, listen, and witness your whole life change before your very eyes.

While it is true anime often is appealing for the art style of Japanese animation and I'll admit I like good animation but there is so much more that makes a movie or tv show great. I read the whole manga in a single day, as many people said the finale seems really rushed and not very elaborated, but i still loved the story and the characters After Kimi No Na Wa i must say this is my personal favourite manga/animated movie so far

This movie is just so wonderful. I see a lot of people compares "A silent voice" with "Your name", and I think it's very subjective, but for me, it's clear : "A silent voice" is much better. "Your name" is a lovely love story with fantasy, but it's just a love story and it's not enough for me. In "A silent voice", the love story is only one subject, the story and the subjects are a lot more matures. For example, the handicap is really wonderfully shown (and I know what I'm saying, I LIVE it everyday). The characters are a lot more good in "A silent Voice", because they have a personnality more interesting. In "Your Name", the characters are good, and cute, but they are more "classical" and we don't know enough on them. "Your name" is visually superb. Clearly. But for me, it's not enough. Like an adult, I thought "Your name" just nice, and "A silent Voice" much better. But I think it will depends how much you like love stories. Your name is better if you are researching love stories. And 'A silent voice" is better if you are searching for social or psychological stories.

I have the greatest admiration for all those involved in producing this film, for presenting such a powerful and overwhelming movie that shows how much there is to look forward to in life and that even two people can be the best cure for each other's struggles. If you haven't seen this movie I would totally recommend watching this!
