@@PatricioPapini As Mari says you don't get a clear reason. But my take on it is that the father felt abandoned while his mother went off on her travels, and that caused him to not have a particularly good relationship with his mother from the start and it got worse over the years. The father(grandfather) was probably the glue keeping the relationship going. Mimi's father also seemed to be a quite harsh figure who wished for a quiet, orderly (and uptight) city-life while the mother was very outspoken and colourful individual which caused a lot of tension between them. He already thought of her as careless and a bad influence, and must've felt as that was proved when his own daughter almost drowned and lost all her childhood memories. Parents are very protective of their children and he probably just wanted to keep her safe. He was probably also feeling robbed, that he no longer shared memories with his own daughter. They had to build new ones at an age where it's already hard to connect. It's really sad that the granddaughter didn't get to build her own relationship with her grandmother over the years and that made me cry. But I can also in some ways understand how the event must have scared him and caused him to act the way he did. It would've been interesting to know more though.

@@mymblemeep9383 I wrote this to someone else. I wished the devs clarified that riff between grandma Nora and her son. But I think Renaud is Mimi's brother cause of the family picture with the grandparents, the dad, baby Renaud, and Renaud's mom. That maybe Renaud was given the watch by the grandpa or stole it. Then maybe Nora thought he stole it and got mad at him and he ran off and was lost in the woods. That's why the dad was mad at his mom. They probably kept from Mimi that she has a brother. Then the dad got mad at his mom again when Mimi almost drowned under her care. I'm glad Morph wasn't vilifying Nora or the dad without evidence. I'm not sure what happened either. Just a guess.

It's so funny to me that this was set in 2002 and in 2002 I was in grade 2 and my grandparents gave me a tape recorder one that they had used maybe 20 years before for their voice mail. And that was how I recorded little stories and myself reading and I would also buy cassettes for it to listen to Elton John, Elvis, The Bettles and books on tape. Then again there were a lot of th8ngs I did as a kid that other people I grew up with didn't. Also when I was in school I used a tape desk to listen to books on tape and read along cus I had dyslexia and reading was really hard and my teachers thought it would help.

tbh story kinda reminds me of "the good year" where a kid would live with his uncle on a vineyard in the french country side, on the house skirts of a tiny french village. cute movie. Had similar concept. the uncle died and left the vineyard in the will.. and though there was a falling out.. the protag slowly starts to remember the good times... and found a potential cousin. cute feel good movie.

The ending of this game really confused me. Renaud’s storyline never went anywhere. Was the watch stolen or given? Why did The grandfather tell him not to tell anyone (this gave me creepy vibes about if the grand pop) also why was R parents being persecuted about their religion? Game feels like it was just a part 1. Frustrated by the holes on the story
@scritchproductions Жыл бұрын
@@leya6063 hah i googled it too but the only thing i found was a steam community board with the director of the game saying something about "oh the boy was just very poor and that is how it is" but it clearly is not just that in the story. It feels like this was in response to a question about why the only black person in the game is portrayed so negatively in a way ('the poor black child' etc etc) 1. feels a touch racist 2. the father persecuting them for their religion feels very creepy in that letter and makes no sense. why even put that in the game if the writer wasn;t going to flesh it out 3. does the thief get sent of to a catholic prison school?? 4. did the grand father do something to the boy and buy his silence? 5. was he an abusive man/pedo and is that why the kids father is so angry? SO ANNOYED by all theses non ending stories - and the potential for it to be interesting but they basically turned away from every revealing

I agree that the devs should've fleshed the story of the riff and Renaud out. Renaud was not the only African. Look at the people at the market place. There was a family picture with baby Renaud and his African mom. You shouldn't just accuse people of racism without evidence. You should be glad there good African characters. Renaud is a good character. I doubt p3do would be put in a story or genre like this. I think this story is supposed to be more lighthearted. When was there religion in the story?

@@user-gu9yq5sj7c I think you are right about sexual abuse not being put in here, but the rage of her dad [seemingly abusve dad] there were darker undercurrents. wish this game was written properly and as mentioned before - feels incomplete. No matter how much we debate it. I think it is a good theory about Renaud being a brother except what was that mention about religious harassment That's true the market place had a few black characters but they are largely in the bg & Renaud is the only one of significance (with dialogue). Its not an 'accusation of racism'. I dont think its malicious but even if the intent of the writers wasn't racist, that doesn't mean that the outcome wasn't leaning that way. It felt weird, the white well dressed girl and the poverty stricken rag wearing black thief. You cant not read it that way when it is presented that way. But this is just my take away on it. It didn't sit right, or at least if that is not the intention, then flesh out the story to give it depth. Honestly was super frustrated with this game for all the holes. The graphics are so beautiful but its not enough to justify the cost. Lol glad there is the comment support group tho
