The theme song for 2024 . The outstandingly exceptional brilliantly beautiful music video brought uncontrollable tears in my sorrows filled eyes . She says " Do you have faith in God above ? " The finest music video of this century and a brilliant cover version by pop goddess queen of popular music Madonna .
@smoly375 ай бұрын
@@AmitSinghDhillon-11111 Not she, but Don McLean wrote "(....) and do you have faith in god above, if the bible tells you so." He's questioning wether that is a good thing or not.
@Perla-5005 ай бұрын
I don’t even think that Don meant to pose the question as if there’s a real choice. I rather think that he meant it totally to mock all the people who follow something or somebody blindly without actually making up their own opinion about it. It’s happening right now in the USA with too many people following Trump without even wanting to see his true face, and it’s actually pretty much the same people who “have faith in god above” just because “the bible tells” them “so”. Coincidence? I don’t think so!
@smoly374 ай бұрын
@@Perla-500 That could also be a very plausible explanation- for me, the keyword here is "if". "IF the bible tells you so." Absolutely right; would you believe in god above, if there was NO bible at all? Same difference. But I agree.

I’m a huge Madonna fan, but this cover is terrible. It’s completely soulless and does no justice to Don McLean’s iconic original. It barely got a mention in the recent 50th anniversary documentary about the song called The Day The Music Died. It was a conspicuous omission because numerous other artists’ covers of the song were included. This is the first Madonna's music video that I remember to have seen, I was 11 y.o. in elementary school. I loved it at first time, the melody, her warm voice singing so beautifully; makes me feel so nostalgic although I'm not american.

Madonna's version is very accurate as far as the lyrics she chose to use. So lovely! Love the original as well. One of my favorite songs of all time. As I’m watching and listening to this on 2021, and after constantly being tired of so much division in the US, I’ve noticed something that’s been always there in this video but today it left a big impact on me: every single scene or shot of this video shows very, very different people on it of all types of backgrounds and ethnicities, but in the background in every single shot is the American Flag. This is America, a melting pot. We all bring something to the table. This is us, all different but United. I’m proud to be an American. To live and love this land, and where we can all come together and coexist.

The plural woman. The voice of millions, against prejudice. Pioneer in the militancy for equality. Mother of the multitudes. Singer of yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever. A woman who broke with time. constant diva. Artist in essence. The one that echoes the voice of the forgotten, the invisible, the silenced by history. Fruit of poetry, daughter of verses, messenger of revolutionary poems. Your gaze delves into the human soul, your voice transcends the barriers of time, promoting ruptures in the system.
