@Moon Vision she gets a lot of crap for working with people who are hot at the time but it’s a popstar’s job to be popular, why wouldn’t she? I agree she’s better when she works with unknown or less mainstream people like she just did with Mirwais but man we give her a hard time. I haven’t seen any other fan base be as tough. I guess expectations are high because of who she is but honestly she’s doing what she wants to be doing and we can respect it or stop following her. You can choose to just listen to her old stuff and not think about her anymore.

This video is from 1995. It was acquired by the Museum of Modern Art in New York and displayed there. It was the very first music video to be acquired by a museum as a piece of art. It recreates surreal paintings like "A Little Night Music" by artist Dorothea Tanning and several paintings by Remedios Varo and Leonora Carrington. It also contains elements from Sufism (the mystical side if Islam) like the twirling dancers called "dervishes". They say that when they twirl they get unconscious and they become one with God and have access to the secrets of the universe. Please react to "Vogue" or "Human Nature" 🔥

I love how both of you pay attention. She based the video mostly on the art of famous female surreal painters and artists. Leonora Carrington and Frida Kahlo to name only two. Madonna is so smart and ahead of her time. She earned her incredible success by workin' hard and pushing buttons and asking questions and then taking all the shit for it and always just getting straight back up and coming back more determined and creative. She is incredible and one of a kind. React to more of her videos that spans over almost 40 years. So much to discover. Check out an infamous one like Erotica(uncensored version) or even Justify my Love from 1990-which was banned from being broadcast. Maybe God Control or Dark Ballet from her last album from 2019 called Madame X. It'll stop you in your tracks. J

She's in the DNA of popular music like The Beatles, Elvis and Michael Jackson but is probably most like David Bowie as they both change the sound of their music to reflect whatever art, film and literature they currently enjoy or even wherever they live at the time

Surreal is the right word. Most of the video is inspired by the art of surrealist painters Remedios Varo and Leonor Fini. Also, as much as I like your reactions, you guys talk about Madonna as if she were completely irrelevant today. She’s still releasing music and kicking ass. She may not be the hottest thing out there but she still reaches number one on the charts, sells out tours and breaks records (and rules!). Hello guys! I see you took my suggestion and I knew it would be mind blowing. “Bedtime Story” is the title track of Madonna’s album from 1994 “Bedtime Stories”. The song was written for Madonna by Björk, at a request from the album producer Neelle Hopper. In the video is a sleeping experiment and Madonna is obviously dreaming. Your interpretation is correct when it comes to not even try to rationalize because that’s what happens in dreams. “Bedtime Stories” is an R&B album but it evolves to this song that musically goes to another extreme: electronica, that along with R&B was the style that was becoming more and more popular in the middle 90’s. Coincidentally this is a hint for Madonna’s next album “Ray of Light”, that’s totally electronica. And her next video would from a studio album would be exactly “Frozen”. This video is part of MoMA’s audiovisual collection in NY. Now I would like to request you to react to Madonna’s “Dark Ballet”, from 2019, and Björk’s “All is Full of Love”.

Bedtime Story video was completely inspired by all the female surrealist painters like Leonora Carrington and Remedios Varo. The one shot where her hands are up in the air and stars are spinning around her and Madonnaflying through the hallway with her hair trailing behind , the birds flying out of her open robe - all of those images were an homage to female surrealist painters; there's a little bit of the painter Frida Kahlo in there, too

Madonna is like the beatles, elvis.. gaga doesnt even come close. She's the first female artist to tour big stadiums (filling wembley stadium 8 times a few years into her career). You don't know how huge she was. Even in the early 00s and later on she broke records. She's also the first with the most online livestreams (back in 2000). a record that still isn't broken. the other girls don't even come close.

The videos iconography is inspired by surrealism, more specifically from some selected paintings from this genre (if yall do a google search you will find them). So in the video it's like she's on a acid trip and "meeting" the worlds depicted on those paintings, they came alive and she's a part of the surreal, a realm were meanings are profound, associated with images and not attached to day-to-day logic, just like the psychoanalysis description of unconscious.

It was released in 1995. It was uploaded to KZbin in 2009. .. and Mariah Carey did NOT have the same impact as Madonna AT ALL.. Madonna was already the first leading lady of pop before Mariah even made a record. KZbin didn’t exist until at least 2005, and probably only started to get popular in late 2006.
