I was a Freshman in High school during the Erotica album, Girlie Show Tour. My stepfather paid the cable. I was not allowed near a T.V. school was more important. But secretly I did sneak out to the record store and bought my Erotica copy. There were kids in my Gay Support group. Horizons in Chicago. They had cool parents I guess. I would hear stories of how beautiful Madonna looked on the Rain video. I was like Rain is one of the tracks on the Erotica album. Then sneaking at midnight with my friends to go to the club and then be up in the early morning. People going to work me saying lying I was going to work when in fact I had to be in class. I did have a double life. High school kid during the week. Club kid on the weekends literally lol. Sneaking into the gay club Foxy's in Chicago. Listening to the Fever remix played by D.J. Freddy Bain. Oh such wonderful memories. Before gay marriage, before don't ask, don't tell. Looking back it gives you that strength to know where you came from and where one is headed. It's called experience lol. Clubbing before turning 21 and I was only 15 lol. The best times before my time. Lol. Absolutely no regrets!

The night the Girlie Show was broadcast on HBO, i begged my mom to let me stay up to watch. And then the stripper came down the pole lol omg it was so awkward. My life was shaped by this show and Madonna's fearlessness.

She was just in her 30's jeez. I feel like the criticism she gets now because of her age is paving the way for new artists. People will become more tolerable towards ageism.

This was about the most intelligent I've ever heard Madonna sound...and maybe the least pretentious, even though it's still there a little.
