I was still living in Bangladesh when this took place and it made headlines all the way there! No - I’m sure the producers wanted her to be a bit edgy & provocative, but they didn’t bargain on her going that far. She was high, and Letterman genuinely got pissed off with her behaviour. She made some very valid points about censorship though, and was right to point out how obsequious he’d become to his guests, compared to his show in the early days which was a lot less contrived.
