Even though the interviewer is nervous and English isn't her first language, she actually asks really interesting questions about Madonna's creative process etc. There are so many interviews Madonna has done and the interviewer asks something silly or something we already know.

I have to say the more i watch it, the more i enjoy it. It seems so real, both of them, even if there is a slight awkwardness sometimes. It's 90s, it's real. Today so many interviewers try to be the best friend of the interviewer and talk and talk and fake laugh etc. and don't care much about the artistry, they just kiss ass for a while and try to get some gossip about their personal life in the end. This is very different and Heike is actually interested in Madonna's art and her as a person, not some ET headline.

I love Madonna for all she is and all she isn't, but there's something about her speaking voice that gets in the way of her acting. If you close your eyes watching her act, it's rare to believe what you're hearing. Something is in the way. It's almost like she has a mannered quality or an unnatural mid-atlantic accent or something.

There are amazing interviewers and there are bad interviewers. This girl is so so and yes her English is not perfect but then again she is interviewing Madonna who seems to be smart and patient with her every question and Madonna may have been annoyed with her but she held it well though out the whole interview.

I see some bitching about Madonna's demeanor. I think her highly intellectual nature rubs others the wrong way. She has 140 IQ and is very articulate in speech. She was like this in interviews back in 1984,1985. She's definitely highly intelligent.

Well she knew the movie and the German title. I think it came across that she was really familiar with Madonna's Body Of Work. Remember this was 1995, she could not go on wikipedia to get all the titles and information back then. She had obviously seen Body Of Evidence, otherwise she would not have mentioned it.

Madonna made it painful though being so icy. Look at how well Heike's interview with David Bowie turned out, another legend: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJrFZKaYfdurh9U Heike felt more comfortable although also a little nervous in the beginning and it was such a pleasant conversation because Bowie had no ego and was easy to talk to and friendly. Madonna wasn't so you can't expect a great interview when one person looks like she doesn't want to be there.

The interviewer was a TV presenter of a then new music television channel in germany. She belongend to the very first generation of so called "video jockeys" or "VJ's" in that TV station. It was all fresh and new and exiting at the beginning and I think the people they hired were rarely professionals. They were chosen for being fresh, lively, likeable and relateable. The interviewer here, Heike Makatsch, did have a good education school-wise, but she wasn't in journalism or anything. So in some respects she might have been thrown into the water and probably intimidated by a showbiz-and marketing professional like madonna. But I kind of like her approach. It's very authentic in a way. She later went on to become a successful movie actress.
