Ringo no, tecnically no, Puyo Puyo is a spin-off of Madou Monogatari, a game really different (and darker) from Puyo Puyo. When this game was made PP wasn't born

Dusty - What the guy above said, and HECK YEAH IT'S DARK It adds stuff to characters that seem to be completely innocent. You know that power-seeking boy that makes accidental innuendoes? Oh, he was sucked into a mirror during a school trip and gained unwanted immortality with dark magic and got his head chopped off while still surviving. And I LOVE THIS LORE

It's amazing that you don't have to fight Schezo's decapitated head in the MSX2 and Game Gear versions of Madou Monogatari 2.😄 Don't get me wrong, though, the PC98 version of the game is pretty dark and violent (especially when fighting Schezo's decapitated head), compared to the light-hearted and child-friendly tone of the MSX2 and Game Gear versions, if you ask me.😨
