I've had no issues running 35a ESC's on all my quads. The Aikon ones at least. Blew many other larger ESC's

I bought their 30x30 F405 stack recently just to have on hand as a spare. $59.99 for it. I'm running their F7 stack right now because they were sold out of their F405 stacks when I needed one, but when I seen that price & that it was in stock, I had to get one. I'd like to get a couple more soon, just as spares. I'd like more F405 FCs just because I happen to have 3 brand new F405 chips. When a Mamba F405 FC shorted out the F405 chip, I bought 4 of them before the chip shortage. Used one to repair the Mamba 20x20 mk2 FC and still have 3 new ones left.

Hope it performs better than the current F7 35a mini stack-the FC is fine, but I replaced the ESC twice before switching to the Mamba.

What was wrong with the esc?

I put them in a couple micro builds last year, and both were dead within a few weeks. Just one dude’s experience, but I’ve seen multiple reviews with similar stories.

@@paddle2thesea thanks for sharing your experience. I'm happy with the budget jhemcu 40A 4in1 esc. Works nice on 5" light builds and smaller. For full seize 30x30 stacks jhemcu has a 45A esc that works awesome on my 7" build. I was thinking of this speedybee mini esc, but I bought the 60A HAKRC mini esc instead. Basically it's the electronics of a 30x30 squished into a 20x20. Just like foxeer does as well. Powerful 5" setups kill these small ESCs

ordered the F405 wing - hope the affiliate link will be working, For EU citizens 39,99$ billed and based on 19%VAT I had to pay in total now 36,95€ - just to avoid any complications if China really stops selling these to export customers. Just to make it clear: paypal fee are high cause I finally had to pay 38,61€ or 1,66€ for paypal which is about 4,3% fees.

Been a bit busy lately, a little bit late to thank for your excellent description of this FC, based on your video I took a chance & bought one from Unmanned Tech it's now in my Diatone LR4 working great with my DJI 03, had a bit of trouble finding out how to get the Betaflight 03 OSD working till I used the Speedybee Bluetooth App to install the correct preset for it, going to make a 4S Li IOn pack and install Inav for RTH as I don't trust Betaflight rescue mode enough with my 03 stuff, the Inav for it is WIP, Pawel has started it 😀

I got 3 of the f405 now and I've seen really good things and tragic things pads lifting. USB popping off. But other than those minor problems they work and are literally half the price.

Is USB-C up to spec? Their Wing FC had both CC1 and CC2 connected together (probably to save 0.01¢ on the second 5.1K resistor), which meant it wouldn't work with most USB-C to USB-C cables..

I've been running the jhemcu f405 mini FC and jhemcu 40A mini esc on four quads. They cost 50 bucks together and have been working great on my builds. Good to see new options. Is the ESC on this speedybee the same as on the previous mini stack?

One thing that intrigues me is that the F405 even has a barometer that the F7 mini lacks. What is the point of the F7 mini over this even?

I'm going to write about the SpeedyBee F405 mini stack 35A. It certainly looks like a work of art. However, there are some significant disadvantages.... The main disadvantage is the high temperature of the flight controller! Everything is warming here, both STM32 (core temperature is 84 degrees Celsius), bluetooth and OSD. And this is with USB power only, when nothing else is connected to the stack and the motors are not rotating. Apparently, the Chinese have miscalculated something. Because, for example, Mamba F405 mk2 PC is not characterized by such problems. The second problem is that "out of the box" motors did not want to rotate, only jerked at maximum throttle. That is, the firmware was not working! To be more precise, on the firmware Blheli J-H-40 v16.7 the motors do not want to work. After flashing JazzMaverick blheli v16.77 48 kHz the motors came to life. But even here a crackling noise was heard during operation. And only after flashing Bluejay v0.19.2 48 kHz (I recommend it!) the work of the motors became smooth and without crackles. And then one of the regulators stopped flashing at some point. Thanks to a kind person on the forum - he told me how to solve the problem. In general, a controversial flight controller. Its only plus is the ability to configure via bluetoth - this thing works great, all settings in inav, betaflight, ardupilot are available. Maybe it's just me being so lucky. But it seems to characterize this brand.

Currently SPEEDYBEEF4MINI (as mentioned in the product description) is not available in the latest INAV builds (6.1.1). Or can one use a different target for INAV?

When talking about Mini components the most important factor is weight. I see it was measured but I did not see it put on a scale and when I went to the sales page I am sure the weight is on there but I coudl not find it - that detail is buried - does anyone know the weight?

Love Speedybee's stuff, just bought their F4WING-APP controller for my T1 Ranger VTOL build - £35! And an amazing box presentation. As much as I love Mateksys stuff, the extra £70 for an extra imu, a bit quicker cpu and some minor other knick knacks, not so sure. Would love Speedybee to come out with a competitor to Mateksys's fixed wing flagship the H743, the WIFI + Bluetooth is game changing imo, not having wires hanging out of stuff on the bench all the time. Also Mateksys's £70 GPS M10 unit, you can get from Walksnail for £50 less, just minus an extra barometer, its not a CANBUS, and a slightly larger GPS antenna that can pick up an extra 1 or 2 satelittes over WS's system. £50 for that? Sorry no! I think what we are seeing now is the profit margins 'inflation' off the back of COVID, being exposed by Speedybee. Well done to them!

I had their F405 V3 50A ESC catch fire in the first 4 minutes of flight. Destroyed all the components and lost me well over 120quid despite costinge 53quid. I was racing with it, so maybe it would be alright on 4S. It's a low price for a reason, getting quality ESCs next. And the FC was awful for me too, had gyro issues causing loads of vibrations.

Greatbreakdown review as always. I was using the Mamba stacks but became very expensive, i recently built 5 quads with Speedybee 30x30 F405 V3 and they are as good or better than the Mamba stacks i 1st used. I'm very happy with the Speedybee F405 stacks V3 and their price is great.

isn't that rather a quite affordable one than a cheap ? My last 405 Wing FC purchases have been quite an astonishing experiences cause it was a really nice surprise and that starts for me with the quality of the box and what is in. The only piece missing for me was a capacitor to avoid sparks but everything else looked great, even the usually rather small or tiny leaflets were colourfull and in a readable and useable size which I emphasize cause I hate to rely on links or qr codes only which then might not work at all. I like these and again it feels like with new products we see lower price points to appear which offer the older manufacturers to let the prices of previous products stay up. Things become less expensive except new planes which are still missing a lot.
