I've been trying the Iso-Elastic exercises, both with the supplied bungie cord as well as 20" and 32" Serious Steel bands. Very interesting. One arm is in peak contraction while the other arm works. So one arm is in isometric hold while the other works. You control the difficulty by how far away you stand from the anchor (or by the width of the SS band). There is a ton of instability requiring core activation. The force multiplier effect makes the concentric move less variable and more like free weights.

At the local community Center...i wound a rope around a slick painted handrail with slack on each end.....rows...curls...flyers..etc .could be done with this simple DIY setup!.... Of course it's not mobile. But still a unique pretty tough tool! Like all the stuff on your site...after 50 plus yrs in the game ..this old dog has learned new tricks!!

Very cool improvised setup! I like the concept. And thanks!

@@MadScientistOfMuscle I'm not smart enough to come up with this setup...saw it years ago on Grunt Brains diy exercise page......" Homemade exercise equipment" grunt. Angel fire. It's called an isokinetic device! Amazing and I usual stuff on this site!

@@oldgeezerfitnessr.perales7344 nice! I'll have to check that out.

There were old "isotrainers" that just used rope wrapped around a smooth shaft in a cylinder about 8"-10" long that essentially did what you're talking about... It was a commercial product. Early weightless resistance training in the space program used a similar friction device. I'm old, I know stuff...

Does the T2 resistance housing (RH) offer any resistance adjustment? Or is resistance solely dependent on force pulling the band into the RH (increasing if the user leans back more) plus the opposition force supplied by the other arm?
@MadScientistOfMuscle10 ай бұрын
It doesn't have any resistance adjustment built in. When I first got it, I thought that would be how it worked, but it's actually like you said...depends on the opposing force and body position.

Did yours come with the wood inserts for the handles? Mine came with two short wood dowls you can insert into the handles to keep them stiff for heavier exercises.

That was actually something they added pretty soon after I did the review, actually!

This is exactly the review I needed. Can't help with leg squat strength?👎 they talk a good game, but need something more serious.
@MadScientistOfMuscle11 ай бұрын
yep, good for some specific purposes but definitely has it's limitations.
@mreverybody11505 ай бұрын
You should try the Synapse CCR. It uses a 4-1 pulley system and when you do a leg squat, the resistance is superior. A slight move of the control strap and your entire body is pulled down.

@@mreverybody1150 I checked it out. It's not bad. I could use it for vacation, but since you hooked me up it's my turn to return the favor. Look into flywheel trainers, specifically the STREXBOX. Ccr gives upto approximately 660 lbs, but STREXBOX is technically unlimited and it works almost the same way, without the limitation of needing your other limbs working and handling 25% of resistance to give you resistance. Ccr honestly seems like an upgraded version of this, but SB blows both out of the water.
