Just discovered this video from your visit to the Columbia River Gorge. Lovely photographs of the clouds draped over the forests and cliffs. We live a couple miles from the Rowena Loops. I’ve played with light painting as vehicles pass below on a few occasions, but it didn’t occur to me to composite several passes. Having a car and driver at your disposal is smart too. It can be a long wait some nights. It is November again. The rain has returned, and there is fog in the forecast.

A great travel through the gorge Mads in this very wet and cold series..as any true artist you are the idea of having Sophie hop in the car to get the images in your head...genius...when life gives you lemons make lemonade...lol...

Beautiful photos of a place where I have spent countless hours. Sadly the gorge suffered a pretty devastating fire last year and most of these falls won’t look like this for a long time - glad you got to visit them.

Mads, just wanted to let you know that I very much enjoyed this video. You really have to work hard when the environment isn't the best. I thought the valley shots with the clouds and overcast was just beautiful. Great work, enjoy the road. I was up in this area last year and had a great time. I'm mostly a surfing photographer working from Baja to British Columbia. Isn't great doing what you love! Enjoy and have a great trip.

I really enjoyed your set 3-set vlog on the waterfalls. Although I have been to never so many as you have. I never been there at good times to capture good images, either the weather or tourists was the problem. I am inspired to try again.
@MadsPeterIversen7 жыл бұрын
Glen Domulevicz nice to hear you want to give it a new try. But be aware that half the gorge is closed down these days because of the immense forest fires :( - that's what I've heard from others visiting the place.

Man, your videos make me want to explore the places, too. I have a friend in Oakland and I guess I should be seeing him again, and head off into photography bliss . Thank you for another great video!!!

This is some massive quality content you are delivering here! I just found your channel a couple of weeks ago but I watched all your videos and I am really impressed. As a beginner in photography, it really helps to get an idea how to take a proper picture, especially the settings you are including. Keep up the great work man! :)

Loved the series of videos Mads! I live in Portland, the gorge is like a photography training ground for me. Oddly enough I've never been to Elowah falls, I'm going this weekend though after seeing your vids! Can't wait.

Your videos and photography are amazing. I like watching the videos of the places I have already visited to see if I got the same perspective and added to my bucket list the places I have not visited. If you get back to the Gorge you will want to visit Lower Lewis River falls on the Washington side. It is my favorite falls in the area.

Loved all the images from this video ! Its incredible that you got such nice images in spite of the relentless rain ! I think I found a few spot I need to go to the next time I visit this beautiful place ! Also the framed imgae that you were holding, is it Abiqua falls ? Is there an episode on that ? That was hands the best waterfall I've ever visited in Oregon. Excellent Video again Mads !

Thank you very much Bobin! No it's acutally Svartifoss in Iceland, but I understand why you'd think it's Abiqua :)

nice vids you put together. If you don't mind me asking, how do you afford to do all these trips? Beautiful job and pm me, I would love to hear how you do this.
@MadsPeterIversen7 жыл бұрын
Hi, I pay them myself. I earn most of my money through other jobs. Some times I can reduce the cost of the trip by working with the companies I "use". Rental cars, accomodation etc.
@bbrown60577 жыл бұрын
Wow... Even more kuddo's to you. I want so bad to visit some places and haven't been able to figure out how to save up enough for the travel expenses yet alone some gear I want/need. Oh well, I will keep doing what I do and figure out a way to make it pay lol. Great vids and thanks for getting back to me!

There is a lot of controversy with going to Spirit Falls. Just know, for your own sake, that following the ridge is on BLM land which US citizens own. So you're free too go as you please. The waterfalls it self is actually on a Lumber Companies private land but on their website their land is free to use, as long as respected. If you park on the private land at the top and decide to use the old trail. You will have yourself some trouble with the owners who do monitor the top for trespassers. Thats why you see so many signs for no trespassing. (I'll be there in a month can't wait. What month did you go Mads?)
@MadsPeterIversen7 жыл бұрын
Exactly, had to do a lot of research before going and reading forums and getting tips from other photographers ;) We went in the end of November 2016 :)
@kyle_medina7 жыл бұрын
I did a lot a research too. I almost gave up on the spot because of the one owners but than came across a blog that broke it down on how to get there legally. Great stuff as usual Mads. You need to do some more of your night photography. For people who don't know you from the private Facebook Group. Your night stuff is stellar.
@MadsPeterIversen7 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Kyle! There will be a lot of nightphotography in the next episode from Death Valley actually :)
