Okay now I am officially confused. I’ve been mixing up this forward roll for months now. When I was taught the forward roll I was taught whatever leg forward the opposite arm goes forward and you roll on that shoulder, you’d slap the mat with the opposite arm. I feel weird I never got called out on this in BJJ or Judo.

If you're leading with the opposite leg, you're going to be blocking yourself from being able to roll through!

Isn’t this Tomoe nage?
@EfficientJudo4 жыл бұрын
The focus of this video is the breakfall. That's why its shown both on it's own and from a throw. The throw in this case is tomoe-nage.

Your channel very very cool!! But what mean "demo"? Why not full video?
@EfficientJudo4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Our Demo videos are designed to be short demonstrations (less than 60 seconds) showing a technique without it being taught, they are more as a reference tool for new Judoka or those preparing for a grading - we have separate instructional type content where we provide details on how to execute the techniques, check out our playlists for more.

This is not zenpo kaiten ukemi?
@EfficientJudo4 жыл бұрын
Yes - its known as under both names. From my experience Mae-mawari-ukemi is the more common name, at least here in the Judo scene in the UK.
