Through a concerted efforts by Kodokan, IJF, and French Judo Federation, “Kodomo-no-Kata” has been created mainly for children who want to acquire the basics of Judo.
Consisting of the prologue and seven grades, “Kodomo-no-Kata” includes all movements and techniques to be mastered in each grade.
Starting with how to take off their shoes when entering the dojo, it is designed in such a way that children can learn attitude, manner, Ukemi, the basic movements, and techniques step by step. After completing the seven grades, they will be able to start practicing Nage-no-Kata and Katame-no-Kata more smoothly, and also engage in randori and competitions more actively.

Best video ive seen on how to actually start off learning break falls as opposed to just doing them straight out without these steps, these basic steps are very useful, i wish i learnt this way at my dojo

absolutely agree I think just do it approach without breaking it down is discouraging and possibly dangerous

In my country our ukemi test didn't evolve rolling over obstacle. The Japanese sure take these yellow belt ukemi test to the next level. Proud.

Wouldn't suggest to. These are the most important aspect of judo. Gotta learn em with someone who can put hands on you to directly correct you before you can injure yourself. I swear I'm not being overly dramatic

@@madden7732 no problem man. I was afraid you wouldn't take it that well. I'm glad you did and I'm happy to hear that I genuinely helped you with my comment. Joining a dojo is the best idea but you can still practice these at home after a good sensei has taught you em. You'll need a mat tho, it may take months to fully understand how to fall (also free falling vs falling after a throw are 2 different things, you'll get it after a couple months of training). Many other things are practicable at home tho, you could even use a grappling dummy but don't spend too much on it, cause chances you'll never use it are high, but some people I know do use it pretty often and it helps. You can also train solo drills the exact same way a boxer would do shadow boxing if you're experienced enough. My last but not least suggestion is not to rush things and focus on form over speed. Enjoy your journey man!

The spine is part of the back. He’s sitting on his partner’s back. Their backs will be thrown onto tatami repeatedly and safely, without causing either party any injury. There’s nothing unsafe being done in this video.
