I was born and grew up in Puerto Rico, there I always enjoyed a famous traditional dish named Sancocho, it is a stew with pig feet and assorted root vegetables such as cassava, chayote, yautia, malanga, potatoes. It's a time consuming dish and simply delicious. Another way we do pig feet is with pinto beans. Never heard about Fry pig feet but it sounds delicious, thanks for the idea. I will definitely try it.

I am 74 yoa, born and raised in Alabama. It has been about 20 years since I have eaten fried pigs feet. It seemed like I was the only person who wanted them, and worse, grocery stores stopped selling fresh pigs feet. I also love pan-fried pig tails...and they aren't in stores either. I began to wonder if our scientific geniuses developed some new breed of pigs that don't have feet or tails! Seriously, where I am from White Folks and Black Folks ate the same foods, and many of us still do. Did I mention that I am old, and white. I never labeled anyone, much less anyone's food. The only label I would use is "My LORD that is good." After watching this, I am going to pick up where my momma left off and find fresh pigs feet and fry them up. Mam, this is just incredible. GOD Bless you and keep you well.
@MaeMaesHappyTable Жыл бұрын
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your story about your pig feet experience. I must say what you said about the possible new breed of no feet and no tail having pigs is hilarious 😂😂😂. Even though the fried pig feet are very good it’s not something I eat often. So I haven’t noticed any difficulty finding them in stores. Your synopsis of what people eat in relation to their race is the same thing I’ve noticed. Many years ago I worked in a grocery store and yes they were buying the food. So I don’t really get that either, or never gave it much thought rather. Hope you get some fried pig feet soon and enjoy them. Thanks for watching and God bless.

I am 68 years old and have been cooking since I was 9 I am from the city but had parents from Alabama married a South Carolina man .Moved to North Carolina and during this time have never heard of fried pig feet. I happen to just be cruising through KZbin. Mrs Mae ,I thought I had cooked it all from southern to gourmet but you have helped me add something on to the repertoire .I am going to try this and when I do I will be getting back up here to let you know how my journey went.. I will have to invest in a deep fryer because I do not want that grease popping on me either!😆.
