After seeing Joe driving Leo I think that’s what happened. Joe and Vito together killed Clemente and a bunch of his soldiers, wiped out half the Tongs, and killed Falcons and a bunch of his soldiers. They’re unstoppable together and extremely effective on their own so Leo and Frank would be stupid to kill either of them but they probably realized they cause trouble together so they were separated and told the other was dead so they’d never go looking for eachother.

This is nice! You should have a choice in the game (at this point at least) whether to try to rescue Joe (A) or to accept the situation and do another job (B) and then to do it and die with it (B1) or to flee out of town and using only what is given for the job to do so (B2). Trying to rescue Joe could then mean to have the choice to kill Galante (A1) or to flee together as fast as possible (A2)... something like that maybe... Also I think this game (Mafia 2) deserves an Extended Edition. Even more and better graphics enhancements than the D.E. and sidemissions inside the story and with an enlarged story. Use missions from Jimmy and Joe (make them a bit different) and place them into the story. Jimmy DLC are not so beloved by many players to be honest. The character is difficult to identify with. Most importantly insert Charlie into the story! Taxi and bus system but also the train and underground system should be revived. To use them in sidemissions but also having to use them here and there might be nice. Also story enhancemant: When Vito's Villa is burnt down and when he comes back from prison he should have lost all his cars. This makes the whole situation even more interesting. And maybe some other changes for a refreshing gameplay. We need the bigger map from Joe's DLC. The free world is mostly used in the story because it has an effect on the missions (guns) and the freedom to go around the city is something that makes this game great. This could revive this game instead of failing with new expensive games disappointing fans and buyers...

This mod ruins the narrative and themes of Mafia 2. Mafia 2's ending uncertain angle to it. You see it from Vito's perspective. You see Joe drive of in another direction into uncertainty but Leo's dire words and Vito's facial expression shows how serious and ugly the situation is for Vito. His best friend gone and Vito in exile over their mistakes. You know what happened to Joe just from the very last few seconds Mafia 2's ending was really solid from a narrative standpoint. But this ruins that. This ending basically says "Vito rescues Joe and everyone live happily ever after" which is a serious blunder to the themes of the story. Mafia 2 is a tragic and brutal tale of violence and greed and Vito and Joe's character arc reflects that. And their mistakes made at the end of story shows the consequences of their actions. I'm so glad this is non canon.

Unfortunaly, Vito payed the highest price for his mistakes losing his best friend (i know is sad but Joe is really dead at the end). The Mafia world got just one ending for everyone and is death. Tom Angelo was killed by Vito and Joe. Vito get killed depending on player's choice in Mafia 3. And that's how it goes (i don't played Mafia 3 yet so i don't know if Lincoln Clay die in the end).

I see some minor details that would need correction. First, Eddie was a close friend of Falcone, which we know was killed in the original last mission, so wouldn't killing him be better than working with him? Second, there was said somewhere in the game that Balls got shot and is unable to walk, so why the hell he does? If i wasn't so lazy i would find more, but don't get me wrong, i respect you for what you do. But this story needed no continuation, the last mission completed the game pretty damn well.

What i suspect that they were planning for whole different events and planned for different endings but didnt find the thing suitable and amde the idea in mafia 3 ,so i guess maybe killing leo and vinci was an option ,but they put leo in mafia 3 as a consequence for the supposed ending of mafia 2 ,and leo appears only once and at the ending of the game ,so this might be an indicator that they werent planning to put leo somwhere in mafia 3 and maybe the main reason they did it was to show us that joe maybe alive ,i dont know about it but its just an opinion

This is nothing but a pain in the a** to install. I've sort of managed to do it. The game boots up fine, and I'm at the menu, when I select a new game for Friends for Life or even Carencyclopedia the game just quits. The installation of the mod is not that clear. The last part were it tells me to edit a file which the mod folder or my game directory doesn't have neeeds to be edited for player, safehouse locations. So I'm at a stand still here untill anyone can help?

People who didn't like the official ending obviously have never seen any of the great gangster/crime movies, none of them end well and that's the point. The ending was absolutely perfect and people who are saying that it's up for interpretation or that the ending is a cliff hanger are just plain wrong, the second Galante says that Joe wasn't part of the deal his death is implied and you just have to understand it. The developers and the writers understood what makes a great crime story.

End of story. But since some fans cried for so many years, the developers of Mafia 3 had a heart and inserted a half arsed cutscene with Joe, who looked like 65 while Leo looked the same. That was completely idiotic fanservice that doesn't even makes sense storywise. Why would Leo hire a loose gun like Joe in the first place? A guy, who doesn't follows orders and who doesn't have Leos trust. Vito did, that's why Leo spared him. Joa was a threat and they got rid of him and rightfully so. Yes, i loved Joe too, but there was no place for him anywhere in the story the developers wanted to tell. Maybe they just should've showed how Joe got whacked in the first place, but since the whole game was told through Vitos perspective it wouldn't have made that much sense. Paulie died in Mafia 1, Joe in Mafia 2, Tommy in GoodFellas, many sympathic characters died in the Godfather movies and so on. That's how it works. When you love this stuff, you deal with it. If you wan't happy endings, play something else. Rest in Peace, Joe.

When I bought the game and installed it, I first have to enter a long code, as an example "JNKLGHFJDK". But then you must change J and N to something else, as S or K, or something else. So, I could not possibly play the Mafia 2 game. An friend could not either do it. He said: "Why do they sell this game when the costumer can't play it?" Good question.
