I think the same, Mafia 3 had a great story and the gameplay could’ve been better but I still enjoy playing it from time to time. Mafia definitive edition was also great and showed what they’re capable of with sufficient time, so it seems with two Mafia games under their belt they’d have learnt enough and had enough experience to make Mafia 4 something really special

With that being said, I feel like Mafia is a game that doesn't and never will need multiplayer, and with Rockstar's current viewpoints on gaming as a live service, I don't think they'd waste development time making a game they can't monetize as a long term service.

You seem to keep up with all the social media, reddit leaks and articles perfectly. A while back I believe I saw you talk in a Discord server and people disagree with you on random bs about Mafia 1 and all that. I would like to see a Vegas setting in the 70s, there's a ton of cool things to make the world feel alive around the missions. BUT.... I would love to see a game set directly after Mafia 2 (so from mid 50s until late 60s) where we follow Joe, and what his life was like working for Leo. I think there's an interesting story about going from a being a loudmouth hotshot to being the black sheep, learning your place and then become a respectful and loyal member of the Vinci family. The work you do is your punishment and your reward is wisdom and your life, so the complete opposite of Tommy's story. I often imagine a mission as Joe where you are forced to fake your own death to prevent Vito to search for you and you do all the grizzly stuff we hear about from Vito, to someone who has fallen out of favour with the family. But yeah, I'm sure they will think of something....

in my opinion , first mission in Mafia 4 could be a retrospective - directly after mafia 2 - like you said , and with time skip - like in mafia 2 when vito go aut of the jail , for example some missions start directly after mafia 2 where we follow Joe, and what his life was like working for Leo, until joe becomes leo driver in mafia 3, and let's say meet vito just before Lincoln leaves to las Vegas, then time skip to las vegas in the 70s and we make missions in here . - in my opinion, it would connect the threads of mafia 2 and 3 nicely, just like mafia 1 and 2 were connected: D

I am playing Mafia 3 and love this game despite the flaws which are numerous. The 1960s are very well transcribed. What about the fabulous music and the vibe that is just masterful. I can spend hours just walking around with Lincoln Clay listening to the many conversations in the streets. In my eyes Mafia 3 is the most successful of the series. I love the remake of the first game but find it too linear. My dream would be to see a Mafia 4 even bigger than the 3rd that happened in the 1980s. I just salivate to think about it

I played M2 1st and then M1DE later. I had no idea about the significance of killing the old guy in his front yard until after I finished playing M1DE. I didn't realize I was playing the character that Vito and Joe killed until the replay of how Tommy died at the end of M1DE. It was more surreal for me the way it all connected at the end. AMAZING!! Personally i couldn't care less about another WW2 inspired or alternate 80's Germany with the not-sees (like the latest Wolfenstein), i'm kind of burned out on that theme, as 90's Hollywood produced tons of movies, and later came the wave of video games based on that same subject. While on the other side you can count with your fingers how many games we have where you can play as a member of the Italian mafia. I know the three mafia game that's about it. So i'll gladly welcome them to continue producing mafia games.

Good vid man. - I'm a HUGE Mafia fan. The game series, your videos, the Godfather games & more. But I think the unfortunate truth is that there won't be a 4th Mafia game. Though the series is great, and the studio would be thrilled to make it, I don't think it did as well as their more mainstream games like Bioshock, NBA 2K, Borderlands, etc. And big game companies are completely willing to let a series die as long as the profits are coming from their mainstream titles. Again, I would love a 4th Mafia game, but when you choose your own ending it takes the power of what's canon or not out of the developers hands, rendering it basically impossible to continue the story within the same timeline. Regardless, great vid I can tell you spent extra time on this one.

Mafia 3 was the worst at launch. It wasn’t until a year later that they added outfits, races, slow mo, toggle ugly hud off, and more. However M3 now with dlcs is a bit better but I still can’t play the game without reshades or else it looks too dull and blurry for my taste. Thanks for the kind words!

I've been saying the next Mafia title should take place in 1970's Vegas since before Mafia III was even planned. LOL. So, if they stole my idea, that's cool.... gimme some credit or let me voice some characters! 😁 I never could decide on how the story should go though. They tried the "Rags to Riches" story in Mafia 2 with Vito, and they've gone the revenge route with Lincoln in Mafia 3. OH!! I just had a wicked idea.... since Vegas is about gambling.... and dice are thought to be evil.... oooooh, there's a GOOD story there. How about before you start the game, you roll the dice and THAT decides your path. You can play as ONE of Two characters: The son of a Sicilian Made Man....but the son is the typical Silver Spoon kid who accidentally allows his father to be murdered.... but since he too was Sicilian and on the way up, a member of the family takes pity and ships you off to Vegas with a small wad of cash to build your fortune. Eventually, you team up with: The second character: an Italian/Irish kid, like Ray Liotta's character in Goodfellas. He's an up and comer in the ranks of a rival family but can never be made. He gets a big-money contract to take out the Rich Kid's Dad and disappear; since Made-Men aren't supposed to be knocked off so easily. What better way then have it done by some punk? He has no idea who these people are! If he does it, the guy they want is dead and the street punk is dead. If he fails.... no loss. BUT, if he succeeds; he's given a wad of cash and told to skee-daddle to Vegas. Where he eventually - and unknowingly - teams up with the first character - and they build an empire together until the rich kid finds out YOU killed his daddy..... But the roll of the dice is randomized so you never know which one you play until you play the game. It wouldn't be too difficult to run the same missions but from either point of view. The rich kid is trying to make a name for himself, and become a big man. But 3/4 of the way through the game, you learn that your best buddy and confident is actually the dude who murdered your father. Or, you play as the poor kid, once again trying to make a name for himself, latching onto this dude who can take you places; building your fortune - and then having it turn into a battle royale when he learns what you did and it's now kill the dude who made you what you are, or throw it all away, lose it all and/or die. The same game, but from two perspectives. All on the roll of a die..... THAT would be awesome. Not to mention the multiplayer aspect of going head to head with other folks. Building your empire and trying to take over / buy out their casinos and support businesses.

I love the video I like mafia 3 in my opinion they should put in couple more missions in mafia 3 and they make Donovan’s story a little longer and they should make a mission of Vito finding his friend joe barbaro it will be great . They need to make mafia 4 they can put some of the same characters from mafia 3 .the story should take place in the 90s or early 2000s who knows that’s how I see it . But we get to see father James and Nicki Birk in old age .

Can we just get a dev team that actually loves the mafia Ip and would love to give their best try at it I’d be all for supporting them. Unreal engine 4 or whatever the newest one is, they could use that and go from there or whatever truthfully. I just want a mafia IP that’s actually about the italian mob. I love seeing my culture represented, now yes it is mafia culture more than italian but the 2nd game man, I felt like I was at home sometimes lmao, fr tho I just wish they’d keep it italian mob. Lincoln was cool as a character but he wasn’t main character worthy. They should’ve just kept Vito’s story rather than include him in Lincoln’s. Or make a new family and story. They had families everywhere. They got New York, Chicago, and New Orleans, they can do Detroit, Las Vegas, Philly, Miami, etc. a whole IP of mafia stories in a world that’s interactive on all plains. So much potential going too waste.

I think they're going to make Mafia 4. They don't honesty that's like the only game I think they could make that would make them a profit at this point. I don't know if it's going to be set in Las Vegas but all I want is Vito scaletta and Joe Barbara to come back. That story Still hasn't been finished and it needs to be continued. You know honesty I just can't wait to see what the game has to offer. Best if we would like to see another company take up the reins of the mafia series. I think hangar 13 needs another shot at it because I think the Mafia 3 has the second best gameplay of the entire series right behind Mafia definitive edition. And I think they should make another game. If they give the IP to Rockstar it will never be made LOL

Glad the music focused game was cut. Sounds way too cheesy imo. The OG idea for Rhapsody sounds interesting however the idea of playing as a "Russian Jew" and fighting against people that offends him in Berlin 1980 sounds too cheesy and more like a bad joke than an actual idea for a video game imo.
