Me and my wife watched that whole season, we were completely disgusted with how Matt was extremely ignorant and horrible. We really cared about Amber's well being throughout the show, we are really glad that Amber's life is going way better now. First episode in I had him flagged as a textbook SOCIOPATH. I told my husband right away and each episode after the mask slipped more. I dated a sociopath for 3 years. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. OH YEAH- he’s now dating my old best friend/second cousin. It came to light after she was a bridesmaid in my wedding. Matt clearly is an emotional mess with major relationship issues, however, Amber also exhibits a need for some time working with a good counselor. She played mind games when he was trying to address real issues, got physically violent EVEN WHEN the cameras were in the room, and (at least in the short 8 weeks we saw her) didn’t really take any personal accountability for her actions. I obviously don’t know everything that went on with them, but personally neither Jamie nor Beth seemed emotionally mature enough to be in a real relationship. They were both far too sensitive, and both would purposefully say hurtful things to the other in order to manipulate a reaction. IDK, I don’t excuse him at all; I think he showed a lack of respect and self-control when he told her to shut up and things like that. But her flipping the table? Nope. That’s not acceptable ever. I think the "experts" really failed Amber and Keith in this season. I would be PISSED if I was either of those individuals. Who thought it was acceptable to choose a man who was homeless, estranged from his family, has NO job, and didn't even invite his parents to the wedding? When it comes to virgins waiting till marriage, they usually are friends first, and then they slowly climb up the sexual latter of "foreplay", and then they get engaged (this gives them time to wrap their mind around having sex and change of identity) and then they finally get married. It's a long ass process for their partner, and for person.... mentally. Iris was hoping that her and Keith could just be friends who kissed for 6 months, and then they could foreplay for 6 months, and then after a year they could talk about having sex. That is a horrible way to start a marriage, for someone who is sexually experienced. People keep pretending like dating a virgin isn't a sacrifice for the other partner and doesn't require a LOT of patience... when it absolutely DOES. The "experts" should have seen the issues with choosing a virgin to get married to a stranger who was experienced. As someone who dated a virgin once, I would never do it again. No offense, but he didn't know how to do anything. I was a grown ass woman (26 years old) and he didn't know where ANYTHING was, he didn't know how to do anything. I had to teach him, and it was just the biggest turn off. And that was just foreplay. It takes YEARS of being patient and sacrificing on the persons side who didn't wait till marriage. There is NO spontaneous sex because they don't know how to do anything. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with waiting till marriage. But if the foundation wasn't there to begin with (BEFORE the marriage), then this is a LOT to put on Keith. It makes sense for a couple who were friends first, fell in love, and they person was willing to wait - because they know once they were married, sex would be a part of their life. But making that commitment to someone you just met, AND married, and then they expect you to make that sacrifice as their HUSBAND....I would have left too. Keith knew it would be years of not receiving what he needed in a marriage that had just begun. I am not sure why Iris applied for that show when she was hoping it would be a "dating" situation, more so than an actual marriage. People have sex when they are married. It's one thing to wait a few days, maybe a few weeks (again, big difference between making someone wait while dating versus making your husband wait after marriage.) Iris wasn't dating Keith, she MARRIED him. I don't know of anyone who would have stayed. Imagine if the genders had switched and your new Husband (who you were attracted too) didn't want to touch you/sleep with you for a long time. And they wouldn't tell you when, you just had to wait until it felt right for them. Unless you, yourself, were a virgin too, I don't see that working out. Eventually you would leave and find someone who fulfilled you sexually. That's just my opinion. I was disappointed in the experts and what they put these people through. But I'm glad it worked out for some.

My heart bled for Amber. She carried herself well and I totally understood the ups and downs she was going through. I want to see someone that has a good head on his shoulders do that girl right. It was like the ex-husband was on drugs or something - his behavior was player mode, but was NOT a player that should have been playing.
