I agree with you. This is a very old movie. Writing for cinema has evolved a big deal since then. And this was a very commercial project that just catered to fans of ram charam. They didn't try to be anything more than a series of heroic scenes that made the lead actor look good. And audience were actually ok with just that. Our sensibility evolved with time too. And I'm so proud to see the same screenplay techniques, that are very native to us, used to tell better, more relevant stories today. It is also surreal and sometimes very cringy to see the origins of the mastermind artists we consider them to be today. Haha.

ive seen Magadheera just last year and i' m 42 years old. I loved it and watched it multiple times. its because of Magadheera that i look up other Telugu movies and then found Baahubali which became my favorite movie ever next to LOTR. so i don't think the age or period you watch it is the problem but the fact that you watched the masterpieces before this one. i love Magadheera because it makes me feel 19 again and for the epic story.

It was Ram Charan's Second movie. And Rajamouli made it with a very limited budget and time. Was unable to market the movie because of production constraints. It still broke the industry records at that time.

Thanks for being honest. You can try Rangasthalam at least watch the trailer. It is undoubtedly one of Ramcharan's best performances and the story and execution are also pretty good. There are also many excellent actors throughout India. You can also react to their movies as well. As you mentioned - 3 Idiots, PK, Dangal, Vikram, Padmavat, and others.

Magadheera has some really well made and well directed sequences like the 100 soldier fight, Magadheera is a ground breaking film because it was the first of it's scope scale and vision that Rajamouli tried. It is because of Magadheera that Baahubali and RRR were made possible .... that is something that you must consider ...

This movie was released back in 2009, when it came out, looking at the standard of cinema at that time it was a really good movie, also overly exaggerated action scenes are like hallmark of South Indian cinema, so we Indians are used to it and take it as a fun thing, overall this story touched people's heart, I'm an north Indian i had heard of ram charan a lot but had never watched his movie, first thing that I watched from him was this movie and I was impressed by his acting skills. Then I heard he is the son of the superstar chiranjeevi himself then i realised where he got his charisma from.

Magadheera was done with a low budget and for the time in 2009 it was the biggest budget Telugu movie man. We totally get u having a disappointing reaction, but understand this watching RRR first (the hangover can't go away) & then going for Magadheera is definitely a questionable decision, but the movie worked for us because we saw in 2009.

Remember that this movie came in 2009 and it was made as a commercial movie and to cater to Telugu audience. It should not viewed with the western or global perspective of 2023 and certainly not with what Rajamouli has become now. There are a few cultural elements you missed. Not your fault but it was have made your viewing experience better. Songs are common in Indian film industry. We don’t have a noteworthy albums or singles for songs. So, instead, movies have songs letting musicians earn although the makers themselves agree that they are at times unnecessary and break the flow. Tollywood was no where in the world of cinema back in those days and it was one of the finest movies of that industry back then.

Every Indian movie you watch is made keeping in mind of there own audience, for Magadheer its telugu audience of 2009, first movie with such great vfx, i know you feel these vfx are worst even i feel that now but when we watched it for the first time in 2009 nearly having no idea of what hollywood or its vfx is, we enjoyed it away too much. Indian vfx is increasing with budget now. No doubt its quality will look worse now but it was made in 2009 so it was more than 4k for tollywood audience those days, it was a Industry Hit.

@@050138 Its completely normal to not like the movie! don't worry. you've got to have maturity to understand what it takes for someone to go from "love doesn't last forever" to "lets stay together till there's love" to "If its love, you've got to adjust and accept and keep trying to get the spark running". This movie is just a story that no one talks about in every average household, that's put in a modern setup. It's just too far away from the so-called "movie vala love" and close to the reality that many couples actually face today. About "insult to love stories" - It is a story of an extremely broken man that goes on to believe in love again towards the end. The movie has to show all the emotional turmoil he has to go through and yes! Its a mess because in reality, such a situation is actually messy! If you're still into that fantasy love shown in regular movies, there are already a ton of them 😁 Enjoy!

There has to be supporting sensible scenes in script and screenplay, and mature performances to make it a great film.... First of all the protagonist doesn't go through any real turmoil in his life.... Just due to one failed relationship (which 95% of humans face on this earth) , he stops believing in commitment and love and becomes a Casanova.... All those graffiti wars and skydive fights, to what purpose? His reason for again falling in love is equally half baked and childish.... I tried 5 times to get past initial 15 minutes of Genelia's overacting.... Only after that could I move past that .... And the overaction throughout! 🙏 One of the worst chemistry between lead pairs I ever saw .... No wonder it flopped.... Lots of cliched pseudo-philosophical lines like 'Karanale migili pokudadu' or whatever blah couldn't make it a heartfelt romance because this is exactly what it lacked - soul and heart.... Having only philosophy dialogues by every character, and good locations and songs doesn't make it a great love story.... The movie itself has very low repeat value So thanks for your 2 cents, but no thanks....
